We had a lovely family dinner during Diwali. The atmosphere was festive and welcoming.nnThe Hot and Sour Soup was delicious — perfectly spiced and very comforting. Service was fast with no waiting time, which made the experience even better.nnThe highlight of our meal was definitely the Schezwan Sizzler — tasty, well-cooked, and full of flavour! The Gini Dosa was okay in taste, not as impressive as the rest.nnOne small downside was that not everything on the drinks menu was available, but overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a good dining experience.
A quiet, cosy place to celebrate a birthday.nnDefinitely a haven for vegetarians - that is, if you like food with different levels of heat. They do have mild offerings. Just ask the servers. I like vegetarian food, but am personally not a big fan of spicy food.nnThey have a wide variety of choices, but the base flavor is always Indian read as, even the cheesy macaroni has spices.nnThe serving sizes are more than adequate for one. Just take note that the menu does say that the photos may not reflect the true size of the portions. Take for example their Sizzling brownie with ice cream. There's only one scoop of ice cream on it versus two on the menu book.nnOver all, it was a relaxing lunch. For most part, we were the only group as it was a quiet afternoon. :-
The dining experience was indeed quite pleasant, offering several positive elements to be appreciated. We had traveled from Christchurch. The quality of the food was particularly commendable, and the service, while attentive, was a bit slow. We ordered five dishes, and there was a five-minute interval between each one. ⏱⏳ The overall ambiance created a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. The only aspect that could be improved was the dessert, specifically the 'fluda ice cream' it was Rooh afza milk with ice cream and chia seeds, not a fluda ice cream.
It was a really great experience at Status. Their service and food was really good. They had good gluten free selections as well. Great experience and will be back again.
nnTried the paneer sandwich from Status Indian Restaurant and it was genuinely impressive.nnThe portion size was generous and very filling. The paneer was well cooked, soft inside with a nice crisp on the outside, and loaded with flavour. The cheese was melted perfectly and added a rich, indulgent touch without overpowering the paneer. The toasted bread held everything together well and had a good crunch.nnLoved the addition of chips on the side. It made the whole meal feel complete and great value for money. Quality and quantity were both spot on.nnDefinitely a must-try if you enjoy Indian-style fusion snacks. Will be ordering this again.
