Service was good. Theatre was tidy but a bit of air freshener wouldn’t hurt. Smells a bit funky on entry and we weren’t the only ones who noticed. Good to still see a familiar face at the counter.
It was unbearably stuffy with no aircon or ventilation lots or people complaining and people leaving due to how hot it was. Great movie though
Really lovely staff, and an awesome cinema. Very cosy and ventilation worked extremely well. Excellent sound coming from the speakers as well.
Best jingle. The owner is a total babe. Did I mention how good the jingle is? Vintage logo, can’t beat it. Also, how good is it getting served ice creams by a total babe. Yeah, the decor is dated, but it’s cute. 80s, 90s cute. Owner is a babe. Would totally return A+++++++
A good evening out to go to the movies. Staff super friendly and helpful. Theatre clean and a great experience overall.
I haven't been to the pictures in a long time so this review may be a little off because my expectations were to high. Nice little place staff were very friendly. Our pop corn seemed like the last bits in the cabinet really small and tonnes of unpopped kernels just our luck, my daughters 7up tasted old or moldy or something but it wasn't very nice she still drank it lol The seating seemed like they could've been a little higher I felt if I sat up straight the child behind me wouldn't have been able to see. Movie was cool and the sound was great
We found the cinema very small. It was like being in someone's lounge for size, but staff were friendly. We do prefer a bigger screen and had we known what we were getting would have waited to see the film at a larger cinema. For the local community who know what they are getting it does the job.
Bit tired. Their first movie of day did not start until 1.30pm they opened door at 1.20. Big que outside of kids waiting for it, most would have missed first 10 to 20 minutes of movie. Luck ours started at 2 so managed to get to seat at 1.50. Badly handled and yet know staff were in building at least an hour prior to opening doors. Left a bit of sour taste. Luckily movie was good.
We Male and Femail 65+ Have just thouroughly enjoyed the movie "Operation Mincemeat" at your 1.15pm Cinema 3. Absolutely brilliant! The only thing that spoiled it as we said to staff on leaving was it was so absolutely cold had it not been for being so gripping we would have had to leave. The other two couples present also shared our view on the theater temperature. While we understand it was an afternoon session with minimal attendees the temperature would have us recomending the movie but not the theater in the afternoon. We appreciate your great service to Taupo but winter has yet to fully arrive...... Thank You.
Just listened to your synopsis of the movie Muru and racist comment on your phone message Starlight Cinema. We're in 2022 not last century. Or don't show movies that you just can't get your head around.
