Star Garage Patea is a mini museum collection of cars, automobile parts and memorabilia mainly (but not exclusive to) 50s,60s,70s.
Proprietor Jim Baird has a collection of various model cars, parts and memorabilia. Located in Patea, New Zealand, it has been described as a mini MOTAT, it's a huge warehouse filled with old cars out of movies, including the Kiwi Shell car from the NZ movie cult classic "Came a Hot Friday".
Jim usually sits outside his garage with his sausage dog Ted (the town's self proclaimed Mayor of Patea).
Jim is more than happy to provide visitors with a guided tour of his collection and current restoration projects that he may be working on.
Entry is free however, a donation is kindly appreciated to help fund the maintenance of his collection and towards current and future projects.
