In 1991 Donald and Moira Ewart started a small Raspberry Farm in rural Geraldine. They named it Stancrdu after the four sons.

Over the years the farm has slowly developed and grown but is still focused on supplying high quality berry fruit at affordable rates. Now with over six hectares of berry fruit and growing Raspberries, Tayberries, Gooseberries, Redcurrants and Boysenberries and supplying to the local market through their farm shop and the local supermarkets, while being able to send the fruit to all comers of the New Zealand. Stancrdu also supplies many different local restaurants allowing them to have high quality local fruit.
With their high standard packing shed and freezing capabilities Stancrdu is able to process fresh fruit very quickly allowing it to be ready for sale from the farm shop in it freshest state, or frozen to make a high quality free flow frozen berry that can be used year round.
Stancrdu has always been a local berry supplier with many local in the Woodbury, Gerladine and wider South Canterbury area returning each season for fresh fruit. The Raspberry season starts with the very busy Christmas period when ordering ahead of time is a must, then finishes near the end of February or mid-March depending on conditions.
