My family first visit to attend a catholic mass in Timaru. This haven is solemn and father is more welcoming with a smile as well as other people.
Nice church if you looking for a Sunday service or any day of the week .. check the service times from their website .. we were unfortunately there for a funeral Saturday. It was presented very professionally by the Parish Priest.nOn the Sunday we again returned for the 10.30 am service and found the church 90% full with a good congregation.nA good place to worship should you be looking and although Catholic in denomination i am sure any person who sought a religious relief would be welcomed
With the basilica closed for earthquake strengthening until about October 2019 St Thomas' is the only operating Catholic Church in Timaru. On a normal weekend, ie not Christmas etc, there are 2 evening masses and 2 masses Sunday morning. A very pleasant church.

Visited this church for mums funeral... what a lovely warm feeling.. not a church goer but credit where credits due
