Worth a visit and a church service if you are visiting, gives a good insight into demography of Invercargill Catholic population and enjoy the beautiful decor/architecture while getting a soul defrag!
It's quite an impressive building both inside and out. Well worth a visit if you like nice buildings.
I visited this church not long after visiting Istanbul and noticed its similarity to Sancta Sophia there. We had to ask for a key to see the interior so I asked the priest about it. He commented that the first priest commissioned an architect to build the church based on Sancta Sophia, as he had visited it and been impressed by it.
As with a lot of Catholic churches around the world....an architectural treasure
