St Andrew's College

I have been considering sending my children to STAC but have heard a lot of remarks from friends about the high fees and average results. Many have to get a private tutor to help their kids get up to scratch, despite already paying for a private education. This morning, I was at McDonalds in Merivale with friends and we overheard a group of St Andrews students talking. They were goofing around, fair enough, but every second word was the F word or the SH word, and even one instance of the C word. Not representing the school very well, especially when an adult presumably a teacher was present with another group of students nearby. If this is a reflection of standards at STAC, then I'll be saving my money and going to a state school.

It's an amazing school in Christchurch, magnificent Music Theatre, wonderful football playground, best location. Very informative about the school activities each week to parents and guidance.

Went for two years and did not enjoy those days. I am now at my local public school and thriving.

Stac is overpriced for the education that you could get at any public school. Save your money if your kid isn't a star at anything. The only good things are the facilites and that you get to go to camp in year 9 and 10.
