Short & simple...i wouldnt put another close family member into this place
Wonderful staff, lovely home and we are very happy with the care our mum is receiving at St Allisa. This year, amongst other things- namely Covid- with our mum transitioning from independent living to full time home care has been trying and upsetting but with help- from moving her from the family home to hospital to St Allisa, it has been made alot easier - namely with help with health teams and staff here. With all of us overseas, they have been outstanding. Constant communication and seeing mum going from strength to strength has been an enormous relief and we, as a family, are so very happy! They go above and beyond and we appreciate all their help and care. So HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Mum is safe, secure and has her happy place and a whole new chapter/life stretching out in front of her where she can just BE and enjoy her life.
My mother until she passed away recently resided in the dementia unit and my father is in the general rest home. I have enjoyed peace of mind knowing that they were/are very well cared for. It was only since Mum passed away that I have fully appreciated what an extraordinary place this is. From the lowliest cleaner to the senior manager the amount of kindness my father and I have received is very humbling. A staff member shared with me the fact that they regard the residents as part of their greater family and grieve along with us and as I have witnessed first hand, care along with us too. In these times of negative media about rest homes St Allisa shines through with it's culture of caring and kindness.
My Mum had been here for approx 2 and a half years. Once the previous manager left, St Allisa's dramatically improved. The new manager connects very well with both resident and family. Very caring staff and clean safe environment.
MORE THAN 5-STARS My sincere thank you to the wonderful team at St Allisa and the care they are giving my Mum. We had a very tricky situation whereby my Mum had collapsed and was sent to Burwood Hsp. All this when the Corona Virus shut down in Christchurch happened end of March. All of her children live overseas and the grandchildren overseas and down south, so no one was able to see her. I had contacted Leigh from St Allisa and tried to have Mum moved into the home, Leigh was wonderful and very communicative in such a unprecedented time, we have always been very nervous as to what we do with Mum should something like this happen. To my delight our there was a place for Mum at St Allisa. Mums care has gone from strength to strength, the support given from the whole team is a totally amazing experience, we are so pleased with the ongoing communication from all staff and Doctors, the system they have is wonderful, we have seen our Mum more thank you Facebook Messenger Video than ever and we are incredibly relieved that she now has a new life being well cared for into the future. I highly recommend this place to EVERYONE. Thanks again St Allisa.
Great staff really look after the residents. Big facility. I'm told by my father that the food is good. Small rooms but similar size to all the rest homes I have been to
Our father is there at the moment.. the people who work in the home are very friendly, caring and helping staff. With the home it self is clean, tidy, and well maintained.. peace at mind for your love ones....
