Better World Adventures facilitates group tours of high school students to international destinations to participate in community volunteering.

Story

In December 2017 a group of 20 Mount Maunganui College student and two leaders will travel to Sri Lanka for a 24 day experience. In Sri Lanka the group will be spending their time volunteering in community aid projects, primarily in childcare centres and renovating community facilities. The group will also spend time with two wildlife conservation projects. One is a sanctuary that rehabilitates retired working elephants, and the other is a marine conservation project that protects endangered sea turtles.
The goals of the trip are to develop personal leadership skills and global awareness in the students, and to foster personal growth through charitable acts of kindness.
The group has a lot of fundraising to do throughout 2018.
