Sensational revisit since new owners took over late last year! The ribeye was a perfect medium rear and delicious, and the 'special' Gurnard tacos were fabulous.
I went to Sprig and Fern three days in a row, and everything was so good! The pizza was great, and the ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. But the chicken burger...OMG. Seriously, the BEST burger I've ever had. Like, the first bite literally put a smile on both of our faces, and that almost never happens! And I've eaten a LOT of burgers, both in Germany and other places. I'm not even exaggerating, it was that good. The staff were also super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Oh, and the ginger beer was delicious too! This place was the highlight of my New Zealand trip food-wise, even though I ate a lot of other great stuff in other restaurants.nDefinitely recommend checking it out if you're in Mapua!

Food was very nice. Pork Burger and a Beef Burger. Both very tasty. Very good service. Now the atmosphere was what I struggled with and I feel for the staff here. If are patrons can't control their children running all over the place, screaming and yelling plus constantly leaving the door open on a cold day them leave them at home. This is a reason we may not go back. We couldn't even have a normal conversation with out having to raise our voices because their parents are obviously selfish and don't take other partons or the staff into account.
Older gentleman behind the bar was incredible. Top service. Beers are good with a decent selection. Aussie hazy was a winner for the table. Meals are decent sized and the chicken burger is massive. Can get very busy, yet has plenty of seating.
