We are a cute little cake shop serving coffee (Coffee Supreme!) and cake on the edge of a park. Come see us and sweeten your day.

Story

Hi there. If you'd like to know more about what we can do and our pricing please don't be shy - send an email or even better, call us! We like to chat about cake.

We provide sweet catering and styling for any event including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, hens parties, dinner parties, picnics, corporate events and so on. Maybe you just need a good cake to cheer you up and brighten these winter days.

Ideally we ask for 72hrs notice for smaller cake orders. Weddings and larger events require 1 month minimum. But, no matter what your time-frame, please try us as you never know when we'll be baking.

We are currently working on our website and will keep you posted as to when it goes live!

Went to get gluten free muffin and they'd sold out. Woman checked and bakers offered to ice one for me. I thought this was so kind. Had a coffee very good and hot chocolate. Hubby, who's a big hot chocolate critic, said it was very good. Lovely sitting in sun looking out over park, listening to birds chirping. Their cakes look amazing and I've got a birthday coming up so here's hoping my hints to hubby work
Absolutely brilliant little cafe at The Mount. Just off the main road thru town you could easily miss Spongedrop tucked in next to Coronation Park. Luckily we had a heads up, thx Mum, and decided to check it out. Lovely coffee and a great range of cabinet food. I had the nicest gluten free savory muffin ever. Yummy.
This little gem of a place served my need for a snack and coffee with my niece recently. Parking is easy and accessibility into the cafe is easy too. The coffee was lovely, as were the snacks.
Found this quaint shop/ cafe by accident traveling about. Oh the options for gluten-free is great. I had muffin and delicious and got a cheese scone to go. Girls serving are so friendly. I say it's a must do. Everything is made and displayed beautifully.
Lovely quaint place with views to A park not all the traffic. Cakes and scones are lovely, please note it is a cakery not a Cafe for meals. But still pure perfection.
My daughter and I decided to start our day with a pastry and coffee however Spongedrop made this a very embarrassing experience. I don't like strong coffee and asked for a quarter strength Mocha. The barista then said she couldn't do this and proceeded to lecture me on coffee machines and how this worked and wanted to give me 1 shot, I then asked if I could have half a shot but that was a issue for her. I then said I would have tea. All of this occurred while the queue grew. My daughter saw that I was embarrassed and politely said we would cancel our order and we then went to the General café who were lovely. A good barista would be able to aim for half a shot and deliver a quality product which most cafes are able to do. A really disappointing experience that they couldn't think outside the box! Updated 28/12/22: Thanks for responding back and putting steps in place to ensure that this doesn't occur in the future.
So good! Amazing cheese scones, and the best cinnamon scroll in existence. Cute little cafe too, with outside tables, and pet-friendly. Highly recommend.
Let me start off by saying that this place sells THE BEST lemon cupcakes I’ve ever had in my life!! It’s so hard to find good lemon flavoured cake options and they’re absolutely aced it the blondies and brownies also never disappoint. I always like to drink their wonderful iced lattes with my cupcakes to balance out the sweetness. Definitely recommend eating here if you have a sweet tooth! They also have loads of gluten free options.
The ladies at Spongedrop are amazing! They made the most beautiful cake for our wedding that tasted as good as it looked! We also bought some gluten free options for our guests from the cabinet and they went down a treat. Highly recommend!
While waiting for the bus, I decided to pop in. Such a lovely little place. The cinnamon scroll and latte were perfect. Definitely worth the little extra $ the baker and barista did such a wonderful job
