Split Apple Rock - Toka nag wha

About

We are developing a wonderful woodland Bed and Breakfast at Split Apple Bay at the gate way to The Abel Tasman NZ

Story

Split Apple Bay is sandwiched between Kaiteriteri and Marahau on the gate way to the Abel Tasman National Park.

Split Apple Rock has several scientific and mythical stories behind it but what can not be questioned is that it is one of the most unique rock forms on the planet. The rock is visted by 1000's of visitors on the way to the iconic Abel Tasman National Park and has access via a road or by boat. The beautiful golden sands are a play ground for many yet its tranquility when the sun dips is a place of reflection peace and relaxation.

Weddings and other significan celebrations are common here, most orchestrated by our local wedding & Event manager #thedreammakernz.

The beach is safe for parents to relax, watching their children play in the sand, swim in sheltered waters and calmbering among fun rocks and caves.

Many visitors enjoy the challenge to swim to the rock for the picture post card shots.

Walk to the Split Apple Rock from Moonraker Way No parking. Park further up. Once down the beach, enjoy a swim or a picnic on the beach. Walk further down the beach to the right for a better angle. A photographers delight. Such an amazing natural structure
Gorgeous bay. The rock itself wasn't too far out and you could swim to it. Frustratingly the water taxi from Kaiteriteri Beach was anchored right in front of the rock from one side and it stayed there for ages so was annoying when wanting a clear view for photos. We went rock hopping and managed to find some nice photo spots
Stoning beach! The Slip Apple Rock is pretty easy to reach, even if you must swim a little to get there. A few caves to do awesome photos too. The sand is soft, and the water goes deep very slowly, which is good. I highly recommend it.
Stunning beach location. Golden sand, clear water, beautiful feel and pristine setting. Short walk down to beach, not wheelchair accessible, lots of stairs. Portaloo at bottom.
Amazing place to kayak to if you get the chance. Also , find out the various versions of how it became split in half.... the scientific ones and the "fables" . Nice beach alongside it, but can get busy as you can guess.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Worth the walk down to the beach - about 15 minutes through bush, well defined track. Very nice beach and the split rock is worth seeing.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Short walk on a path between great ferns, then you access a beautiful beach facing the Split apple rock. You can swim to it and climb on it.
Got there just after 5pm and took the 15 minute walk down the sign posted track. My partner and I where the only couple on the beach and the scene was calm and beautiful, what an amazing spot
The walk to the beach is well set out and it makes it easy walking but for a couple of steep steps. Was lovely to be able to see the rock even in high tide.
Beautiful beach to visit near kaiteriteri, busy area parking is minimal on busy days. 10 minutes walking to the beach, decent track. Magic place to visit in nelson bays, local tourist options for boating ect also
