Large ale house with wood styled decor. Good vibes and really busy so make sure you book. We both ordered the lamb shank, you can get medium or large which means one or two pieces of lamb. One piece was big enough for me and two pieces was a bit much unless maybe you’re starving. Vegetables were great, loved the mash and Kumara potatoes. I did like the lamb but there were a lot of fatty bits that I’ve not experienced anywhere else in NZ. I had a glass of the angus the bull cab sav which went really well.

Meals very average , salad consisted of a large hand full of mescalin and a drizzle of dressing that was it not really what you would call a salad. Steak was cooked medium rare but unfortunately was full of grisel and mostly inedible, not great for 39 bucks . Got a shock when paying bill as large bottles of Speights are 16 dollars, my friends burger also not great dried out bun burnt bacon , would not recommend dininning hear and will never go back
I called in & had a good look around it was like a museum , the service was out of this world the food was unbelievably tasty . I made friends with about 6 blokes who were all rural based and had a blast .Food: 5/5
Thank you Speights Ale House Blenheim for your wonderful service. My sons 1st Birthday Party was a success. This is the second time we have used your space for our personal family events in the function room and both have been a great experience. I would like to thank Kim for her excellent customer service. Easy to work with and made discussions with table arrangements comfortable. She and her staff during the hours of our event were attentive and very patient when it came to our orders. Lovely staff! Delicious food! Speights Ale House is lucky to have you staff members and especially Kim. We will be back again. Thank you a ton! Keep up the exceptional work. Kid-friendliness: I’ve held two events here. Both had babies and children and it is honestly such a great feeling to see them enjoy themselves. The staff and environment is kid friendly. Nothing to worry about especially during lunch hours. Parking: The parking is excellent no issues whatsoever. There is always space available and close to restaurant.
Friendly staff and service although the food was pretty average at best. Possibly due to staffing levels rather than incompetence but I had to go to the bar to chase up drinks that had been ordered more than once.
Too many uncomfortable bar stools! I can't understand bars having this obsession with bar stools: for the physically challenged, they're hard to get on to. And bad for your back. Give me a comfy seat with back support any day.Service: 4/5
We always love Speights in Tahunanui, so we figured we would try the Blenheim location. The atmosphere is nice here, but the food was a little lackluster. It just didn't have as much flavor as we've experienced elsewhere for the same dish. We did catch them on a slow night when they apparently close early. Hopefully, it will be better next time. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options are plentiful and tasty. Usually pretty reliable for celiacs.
Meal was ok, was somewhat small for price and I wouldn't consider myself a big eater, also rushed us through when we were keen to chat.
The food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed our entire evening . The music, food, different cocktails. Lovely we will come back again. Highly recommended.
