Unlike most SPCAs, Taumarunui does not have a physical centre so all animals coming into care are placed in foster homes until they can be rehomed.

Story

Welcome to the facebook page for the Central King Country SPCA. We are based in Taumarunui but do cover a large surrounding area. We are a non profit organisation, run by a small group of volunteers.
We do rely solely on donations, fundraising and sponsors. Therefore all donations are greatly appreciated, whether it be food, blankets, money or even your time as a volunteer or fosterer. We are always looking for people to help us out in whatever role suitable.
If you are interested in working with us as a volunteer please do not hesitate to get in contact with us. If you choose to foster everything will be provided (food, blankets, cages, litter etc). We also run a op-shop in Taumarunui, and occasional fundraising events, that we would love more people to be apart of.
All proceeds from anything we do are kept and used locally.
If you have a complaint, query, want to see what animals we have for adoption then please phone us. This phone is not constantly manned, but is checked daily by volunteers and messages returned.
