We've had a terrible experience. We still have a stray cat problem, with a mother cat and her two kittens roaming our property. We reached out to the SPCA multiple times, both by phone and email, in an attempt to have the cats removed or at least have them neutered to prevent further growth of the stray population. Unfortunately, we received no answer after calling them multiple times. We then emailed and they did respond initially - they offered to neuter the cats and then return them back to the property. Once we agreed to this as this was all they offered they stopped responding. We followed up with another email and still nothing. It is clear that the staff have no interest in helping us or addressing the well-being of the animals. They are not living up to the expectation of protecting animals and helping the community. When we first found the cats, they were in a bad shape and we were worried about their health, but the SPCA showed no concern and were unwilling to help. We are very disappointed with their attitude and lack of interest and expected more from an organization that is supposed to protect animals.
Def not what it used to be. Used to be fun and exciting. Making appointments now to see some animals... dont u want them adopted or something. Agree with the reviews on here.. such a shame
My Tubby name is Tubby he's about 10yrs old We were all. Badly affected by the floods that night and my dog was so distress running behind me we escorting family through the deep water but I almost lost him that might when I disappeared in the water due to tiredness and distress I throw clothing into water to save him Tubby hasn't eaten for 7 days but thanks to SPCA for their amazing assistance to help get my Tubby boy back to good health
We had a stray rooster on our section...hubby called auckland council and he was put thru to so many people..he then called spca but transferred to another number...anyway took rooster to spca they are so short staffed........helpful lady told us where to go with rooster while there.
Absolutely APALLING professional manner. I adopted a kitten a few weeks ago, and last week the phone calls started coming in from thier donation team. 6+ calls later, I picked up and let him know that ‘no I wouldn’t like to donate, and please stop calling me’. He was extremely RUDE and said something along the lines of ‘well I guess animal welfare isn’t important to you’. Will absolutely be taking this further with SPCA, this behaviour is not acceptable and I will not be supporting SPCA going forward.
We now have a new forever family member - Boots the cat. Seemless, lovely process where the cats are lovingly cared for and the new family is well informed
Rafiki’s first real home. Thank you team for taking such good care of him when he was a kitten. The SPCA team are wonderful here, they made sure we had everything we needed to give Raffy his best life. If you can buy a rescue, do it! They are so worth it - just look at this guy!
It’s really special pace to visit. A lot of lovely cat, rabbits and dog. You also can come here be the volunteer to help those lovely animals. You can also help spca by making animal toy. VH
