Great little pub. Needed a quick bite to eat and a cold drink. Good friendly service and good fish bites. Friendly locals.
The South Rakaia Hotel is about an hour south of Christchurch in Rakaia so it’s a good place to freshen up and maybe have a meal or drink before you head on into Christchurch,I highly recommend it the staff and ambience of it make’s for a good time.
Reasonably priced food and drinks however, limited menu and everything we had came frozen from a box.
Lovely friendly place. That was my late husbands and mind drinking place after a day out salmon fishing

Was very over priced for such a run down place. $85 for a budget room and 2 shared toilets and bathrooms for the floor?Obviously nothing spent on it for years. Staff and owners really nice but the place wasn't really clean.
Nice friendly atmosphere and no aggro.
So sorry but it was terrible...told was cod but came out as processed supermarket fish...Took hour half and chips stone gold Peter's eggs fridge cold coleslaw nice.. We could of had the meals out in under ten minutes. ...$25:00. For blue cod as told would be fine
