Great visit. It's really interesting. Enjoyed seeing the areas' local history and displays. I remember the old water tower. The Benhar Pottery. Even found the house we lived in at SOHS surrounded by a huge hedge on the 1957 Balclutha photo map. I was lucky the museum had a helper who gave a great tour. Thank youVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
The couple who run this museum are fantastic..they are local people so know a lot of the history around South Otago..I spent over an hour listening to their stories and could have stayed longer...a must place to visit even if you do live in the area...thankyou...Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Well worth visiting. So much history of the stunning southern region held here. Amazing collection from local early settlers and business's Very friendly staff Alot of local background informative and knowledgeable of the region
It was really cold, no heating and the volunteer staff member was doing her best, $2 entry, was stated in the pamphlet it was a donation, I did not have the right change, was told to pay the next time I was in town. The museum did not have much life to it, no interaction displays. Lot of old stuff spread throughout. Mini gift shop available. Also display at the information center via donation
Good place to remember the old days and appreciate how things so much simpler. People managing the place are so nice and polite.
Many interesting displays. Desperately in need of more help and volunteers, however worth a look.
Fantastic place, give them a good donation as it's worth a look.
Awesome place to visit. You could fill a day in here.
Giving it 5 stars because I feel that one star is not justified!
Good over all history of the south Otago areas.
