Story

Soprano Ristorante is owned and operated by Annemarie Tiffen and her husband Corrado Ronchetti. Soprano Ristorante has been operating on the Kapiti Coast for over 10years now. Corrado has had a long association with the hospitality industry since his arrival from Naples, Italy 1977. He began with pizza shops in Newtown, through to the BNZ underground when it first opened. Corrado has owned numerous successful restaurants over the years with his wife Annemarie Tiffen.

Head Chef Josh Knox and Manager Aimee Knox have returned from their European travels. Together they have travelled to enhance their hospitality knowledge and they bring home their wonderful professionalism and international experience. Come in to chat with Josh and Aimee about their experiences and acquaint yourself to their winning combination. Josh & Aimee are a very experienced management team.

Soprano Ristorante offers great tasting, good value Italian fare. In a relaxed atmosphere that is inviting to a romantic dinner for 2, a group of friends getting together, right through to large groups, possibly celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary.

Along with the restaurant business Corrado opened a company producing an authentic Italian liqueur, Soprano Limoncello which he hand made from pure alcohol, natural spring water and fresh zest of lemon. Corrado sold the company in 2013 but still serves this Limoncello in the restaurant.

Nice quaint restaurant in a good location. Staff were in general helpful and friendly. There were some planning issues with seating and menus for our group who booked in advance. The food was pretty good. Presented very well, and tasted nice.
Our first time at Sopranos, we had seen good reviews and heard good things about them from others .... we were not disappointed! The service was excellent, the young waitress was friendly, attentive, efficient and knew what she was doing. The food, well let's say it was simply divine. Wait times were about right, the portion sizes right not too big or small. The flavours, spot on. Every flavour came through as it should with nothing over powering others. The price was reasonable for the quality and service. We left very satisfied with our dining experience. Thank you Sopranos
Hi the Atmosphere was lovely, service was great I had the pork belly, full of delicious flavours, only 1 pork chop, I could of eaten 2, my Partner had the Rib eye steak, very small serving of vegetables on his plate, we each had a 3 course meal, or else we would of still been hungry. I did very much love my dinner there, I would go again Parking around the area is good
Food was absolutely gorgeous, generous portions staff are very friendlyFood: 5/5
Had an open mind when booking but boy-o-boy, that dinner tonight was simply delightful and outstanding cuisine never said that before in a review. I had the squid entree which was fresh and tasty, better than most I’ve had but the duck was to die for. Everyone else at our table were effusive in praise of their dish too. Can’t recommend highly enough.
We were lucky: a nice table for three, excellent meal choices, two of us opted for the fish special which was superb. Service unobtrusive helpful and prompt.Food: 5/5
The take away meal I ordered was the seafood marinara. It was discussing and over priced. $37 with 3 very small baby sized mussels# 3 Shrimp rings that when you chewed them there was like pieces of rubber that came off them, look at 2nd photo, the Seafood obviously came straight out of the freezer. It was so bland I gave it to the dog where I live. The picture of the menu on this site shows the Pasta is thick. What I got was string. Very disappointed and feel ripped off. Never going back again. Great service & excellent Italian food, warm ambiance with clean toilets , easy access , chill music , the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this place Food: 5/5
Food was fantastic, best meal I have had in NZ. Lamb was cooked to perfection, paired with roasted root vegetables that had a wonderful, natural glaze. Roasted potatoes lightly browned, creamy on the inside. The pork belly was also very nicely done, the mash hearty and flavorful. Cabbage provided a nice counter-point. Highly recommended.
Beautifully presented and a nice array of seafood but a little under seasoned. We will definitely return as we have had better meals here previously. Pleasant staff as usual. BYO is a plus!
