Songbird Gardens are located in the Pohangina Valley, Manawatu's scenic gem, and are open daily from 10am to 5pm. Entry fee to the gardens is $4 for adults but children are free. Devonshire teas are served on the deck of the main house at a cost of $5.
Songbird Gardens are large and rambling with glorious views in every direction. They are situated on the edge of the Ruahine Forest Park which offers hunting and bushwalks. They are a bird watcher's dream, and feature ponds, a daffodil lawn, bluebell wood, alpacas, rhododendrons, an azalea walk, camelias, magnolias and hundreds of hydrangeas. Children will love the enchanted forest with its fairies and they also love running around the network of paths and lawns. There is a rope swing and accommodation is available. The cottage is rustic with a cosy open fire, a spacious, sunny deck and a ceiling hung with colourful dried flowers. Everything is provided for your comfort and enjoyment. The only thing you need to bring is food.
