I had a lovely afternoon at Soljans Estate Winery Unfortunately the restaurant was closed when I reached, because they only serve breakfast and lunch It was quite disappointing, because I've been wanting to come for ages I wouldn't think 3pm is too late, but apparently it is Luckily their cellar door was still open, and I was able to take part in a wine tasting and a peak in their cellar , so it wasn't a complete bust The lady was very friendly and knowledgeable, telling me about 100 year old wines in their cellar that is turned by hand I enjoyed the port the most. It's quite sweet, and you can definitely taste the sultanas
Staff were friendly, relaxing environment. We ordered a mix of the small and large plates, all were good to great in taste. Proportion were all reasonable.
Nice vineyard with lots of spread out seating and a small grassy patch with petanque and a small house for kids. The wine range is great and you can pay 15$ to try three from their menu. They come with a little card so you can take your time and taste and relax
really nice. Food is tasty, wine is amazing, got really sweet memory with my friend today on the last day of my twenties
Wow this place looks amazing. When we were there this landscaping crew were doing the gardens and they looked amazing, the work they were doing was great to. The wine here is good also.
Came here on a wine tasting tour with a small group. It was the only place that we had the tasting standing and in the foyer?? and it seemed very rushed, and like we just had to down our wine and move on to the next one. Lunch was very good however and the garlic bread was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered an iced coffee and the coffee shot was terribly burnt and undrinkable. Not a great first experience here
We visited 18 February - spent most of the time kicking ourselves for not coming out sooner. We started with the wine tasting - our host was amazing and shared her knowledge freely, really enjoyed. We stayed for lunch - Food was excellent along with the staff. I would highly recommend a visit - no need to go to Waiheke for a wine experience with Soljans on our door step!
Was in a group of 5 ladies & had a reservation for 12.30 We ordered and waited an hour for the meals. We weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks and had one warm bottle of water. When finished our mains we then waited another 15 min before or plates were taken and was offered a dessert menu… which never came and after another 15 min the same waitress came and ask if we wanted the dessert menu?? And the last plate was taken away finally. We declined this time as it was to late. We have been coming to Soljans for about 6-7 years & meet 3 times a year for a catch up. Sadly we were disappointed with the food as a see’s a huge change in the lunch menu which wasn’t stated online and a huge price hike with less on the plate. We are not coming back sadly.
Had Sunday lunch with Croation friends. Food was well presented, and all meals arrived at the same time. Three of us had eye fillet steak, one steak noticeably smaller than the other two which was disappointing at $43. The green peppercorn sauce that was supposed to go with it was more like a jus/gravy with the slightest hint of pepper flavour. Others had a good experience with the food. When we were ready to go we had to wait 20 - 30 minutes to pay. Only one till operating and super slow at that. It took nearly 10 minutes to process on payment from somebody before us. Won't be rushing back unfortunately.
This was a very nice winery. Even better was the service from Tyler, his knowledge and bubbly personality made the experience that much better. We did go mid week. The Port was delicious.
