The food here is really good. The meats are all tasty and juicy, and overall very enjoyable. I enjoyed every dish I ordered without exception, and it is fairly rare to find such a place. Service is also good and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that it is kind of expensive, but in my opinion the good food and service are worth it.
4.5 for the food The kebabs were juicy and well seasoned bursting with spices and meaty flavor. Favorites in our Jumbo Kebab platter are the meatballs, eggplant, chicken and lamb. Fish was a bit dry. The platter serving meant for 2 is enough for 3 small eaters in my opinion. The chicken Sofra Kebab is a must try. Perfect combo and medley of flavors from smokey baked bread stuffed with chicken, eggplant, tomato, walnut , and oozing with cheese. Another must try is the Kunefe - cheese pastry topped with ice cream. Yummy. 4 ambience Get a table by the window for the best views. The tables are also quite generously spaced apart for privacy, well ventilated, bright and definitely better their old place at Shaw. 3 for service Service is unfortunately still barely passable with 2 staff being quite gruff and indifferent. Also took the ordering tablet off our table without asking to another table so it took some time for us to get their attention not easy - seem to be short handed to order our dessert with a new tablet. 5 to the boss who personally came to serve us more water and check how our night was going.
Had dinner with my wife and baby, and happy to share that the restaurant is very family-friendly. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. It’s a popular place for parties as we heard the staff sing the birthday song 4 times in 2 hours. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and would definitely come back again. Love the variety found on the salad and chef plates. We ate so much that we didn’t have room for dessert.
A bit late.. on 9 Nov, we had a great Girls Day out starting with a beautiful array of your delicious dishes. We over-ordered as we just love the awesome plating of the dishes! We thoroughly enjoyed all the food and dessert. We will definitely come again with our families the next time. Thanks for the marvellicious memories!!Food: 5/5
One of the best Turkish restaurants I've ever dined in while visiting Singapore 5 years ago. It was an auntie and an uncle living there who took my parents and me out to Sofra that night; we were fortunate enough to get a table right next to the window. The first time I've ever tried hummus with pita bread, which for me... shall forever be, an unforgettable experience because our Turkish Bazaar here in Dhaka, sadly don't have hummus and pita on their menu. The tomato rice which came with the kebab and the salad was also... delicious but what I'll never forget is, your signature Turkish style chocolate pudding topped with a large fluffy marshmallow and sprinkled around with ground pistachios. It was uncle who specially ordered the dessert for me and I'll forever be thankful to him for this golden opportunity. Finished the dinner with a tall glass of chilled, fresh orange juice which was, yet another bonus treat from uncle himself. Looking back 5 years later, I'm missing Sofra so much ! Still anticipating and waiting for the day when I'll ever fly back to Singapore and enjoy Turkish food at Sofra again.
The food is good but it is not as good as in Turkish itself. The best of it is the Baklava, it is not too sweet and it is crispy, and it is perfect with Turkish tea. The kebab grilled is great but the rice and garnish is not like in Turkey. The drink they got a lot of tea and also Ayran. The price is quite high but the service is great.Food: 4/5
Delicious food, great ambience and amazing service, 10/10 would come again. Decided to try Turkish cuisine for the first time and had no regrets, would definitely recommend! A bit on the pricier side, got the jumbo platter and hummus as well as the bread forgot the name for about 100, for 3 people i think enough for 4.
The restaurant has a nice view looking at esplanade. Service was a little bit slow but they do follow up your orders. Nice bread. Kebab is a little dry except the chicken kebab. Recommend the pottery dish which is very fun to watch them serve. Kunefe with ice cream is a must ordered dessert It’s recommend to make a reservation beforehand as it can get quite busy during weekends.
The meal on the whole is good.. but not great. Lack of some kind of aroma in the meat. Hummus and kunefe taste good. 2 of the dips probably the eggplant dip and red pepper dip are too salty. The eggplant kebab is the best out of the 4 dishes ordered.
Hummus: Not sweet at all and tastes great, pairs well with the bread. The bread wasn't very fresh however Drinks: I'm no coffee expert but the Turkish coffee felt like an espresso shot. The Turkish yogurt drink truly tasted like yogurt and didn't suit my taste buds, it's quite an acquired taste. Jumbo platter: A very big portion for the two of us and we had to takeaway the leftovers. The meat was decent but not fantastic. My favourite was the lamb due to its distinct taste compared to the usual chicken, pork or beef. Baklava: We had 2 pieces of it and sadly they weren't consistent. 1 of them had the right amount of sweetness while the other was just too sweet to even enjoy it. Overall: 3/5
