A satisfying meal that's definitely worth a visit!
First walked in and WOW, what a roomnThe place looks greatnWe were greeted warmly and professionally by the front house who were great and nothing but professionalnI asked our waiter where the smokers were and was very kindly offered a tour of the smokers outsidenUnfortunately that's where the good stoppednWe ordered the platter for 2 that consisted of 2 wings, 4 tiny slices of brisket, 3, yes 3, even tinier slices of pork belly 1/4 cup of pulled pork, a bowl of coleslaw I'll get into that later and 1, maybe 2 sausage's that were the highlight and a large bowl of chips for $82,nWhen the meal arrived I.....honestly expected there to be another plate but......nAnother small plate of meat was brought when I raised my.... disappointmentnThe wait staff did their job very professionally and politely all the way through and we are very gratefulnnA bit about me, iv been cooking BBQ for 10 years, as a hobby, so I know a thing or 2 about cooking BBQnThe meat was flavorless apart from the sausage that, to be fair, its not hard to make a good sausage much better in a smoker. The meat was cold, and for BBQ, that means dry and tougher then it would be when it a is at temperaturenThe coleslaw was verging on inedible, it tasted like it had been watered down and was just all round unpleasantnWhat it comes down to I think is, it taists like BBQ that is cooked by someone that doesn't love BBQnIt's a soul food, meaning that, in order to cook great BBQ, you have to put part of your soul into it, and, if you don't love it....nnAll in all, very disappointing
Great food, we had the 300g Ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce abd the smoke 3 meat platter. Meat was so tender and cooked yo perfection, Salads fries and sauces freshly prepared. Atmosphere could maybe have some background music?
cocktails were nice. food was ok but nothing amazing and on the stingy side considering the price, especially the amount of meat on the sharing platters disappointing since it's what they do so bear this in mind when ordering. enjoyed the pretzel with queso sauce. would come back here for drinks and a few bar food rather than a proper meal.
Coming here was a major mistake. It all started with the bad attitude by the manager. We ordered 3 stout which came with no head and no where near full. In being asked for a full beer he argued telling us that is the way it’s supposed to be. Then the food was terrible. Really disappointing as really enjoy the likes of smoky T and smoke n barrel in ChCH. Small portion sizes over cooked chicken and rock hard burger buns.
