I had an excellent experienced with Ivan Yu, who helped me switch my EFTPOS provider. From the beginning, he is knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to understand my business needs. He clearly explained the available options, answered all my questions, and made the entire process simple and stress-free.nnWhat stood out most was their communication and follow-up. He kept me informed every step of the way and ensured the transition was smooth with minimal disruption to my business. His dedication to providing outstanding service gave me confidence that I was making the right decision.nnI truly appreciate their support and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for assistance with payment solutions or switching providers.
As a customer, I would advise others to be cautious when dealing with this company. My experience raised several concerns:nn1. **Unexpected additional fees**nWhen I signed up, the sales representative told me I would only need to pay $40/month for the terminal, with no other fees. However, I later discovered that I was also required to pay an additional $22/month for the Worldline service. This was never clearly explained upfront.nn2. **Terminal not working on arrival**nThe EFTPOS terminal I received was not usable out of the box. I had to drive to their office myself to have it reconfigured by a technician.nn3. **Misleading cancellation process**nIn March, I informed the sales representative that I wanted to cancel the service. I was told multiple times that returning the terminal was all I needed to do. However, I was not informed that I also needed to cancel the Worldline service separately. As a result, I have to pay for April and May, which led to unnecessary time and effort to resolve.nnOverall, while the financial impact was not large, the lack of clear communication and guidance caused significant inconvenience. I hope the company improves its staff training and provides more transparent information to customers.
Well, I have been asked to write a review, so here it is very honestly.nWe were hastily persuaded to acknowledge the new company and fill out forms, and agree to the change over, as we were told the business had been brought from Smart Pay and it would be a simple change over.nNext I got a letter congratulating me for using the new machines and that they were already sent out.nWhich wasn't the case, the units hadn't even been sent when I called them on the phone.nThey dually arrived, and it was supposed to be a simple set up, which it wasn't, took my young tech quite a long time to do the settings and install them.nThen there was only one function, that being processing only eftpos. swipe the card and enter pin.nI was told from the Rep initially, that it was a simple change over and everything would be the same as our present terminals.nThere was:nNo Sales and Cash out optionnNo refundnNo over the phone booking of credit card for bookingsnAnd then they wanted more paper work and to see if we were of good standing with our credit rating and business sense,nI saw red, we had only been with the other crowd + 25 years as a business. and never had a dispute,nThis new lot wanted more paper work, as their system needed some MOTO Icon settings, for us to process sales over the phone,nWhat a joke that was, here we are two weeks using these stupid machines and still not able to do credit card bookings for sales over the phone or cash and sales or refunds, as deemed extra options, yet we had them on the old system.nnSomeone hadn't done their home work on what we were needingnWe were too far into the contract by this time for me to consider getting someone else. I was over the whole thing.nWould I recommend Shift 4.nNonnSorry i should never been asked for a review.nMarknOwnernnFriday 29th May, UpdatennNo one likes a bad review, and I was called this morning by the representative ,with an apology for their lack of understanding of our business nature and needs, and also for their forms with answer boxes, with no proper explanation for what that represented with each tick box.nnHe listened to our plight and understood the relevance to why it failed on their part.nnFor that they are to be commended for calling me and offering that apology, no ones like being that person who admits to a mistake, we have all been there.nnI think fundamentally they had it wrong and not everyone fits into their stupid little tick boxesnnOne size doesn't fit all on these occasions, I found the girl several times on the end of the phone helpful and respectful, but could do nothing to help us, as everything out side of the ticket box was different to what we needed, and had prior to the change of ownership, I think the rep's call today acknowledge that issue and they leant from their mistakes.nnWell done for calling me. but be mindful of what people actually need, and had before the change of ownership, and introducing stupid new forms, with those tick boxes that need more scope and leverage in each of their values to what people need when using the system,nnAlso to give your phone operator some credit and scope and empathy for delivering a service that people actually need, and pronto.nAll the best now for the future,
Since Smartpay went to Shift4 and we have the new terminal, customer service is not great! Cutover times are terrible we went from getting eftpos/credit cards transactions being cutover to our account 10pm same day, to having eftpos that night and credit cards not till mid-morning the next day! Whenever I called over the switch over period I was waiting a long time, I know there were alot of calls incoming. But we switched being assured everything would be smooth and it was not. Our Afterpay was unlinked, and that took a few calls and wasted time to get sorted. Up your game Shift4 if you know you have a busy period with new terminals being distributed, then put more staff on or roll out accordingly.
Ivan has been super helpful throughout our opening process and the first couple of months of business. No question is ever too much and any issues are dealt with in a timely manner. Competitive fees.
