Story

SkyBus is an affordable, direct and reliable way to get to and from Auckland Airport. We pick up and drop off near most major businesses, hotels and backpackers in the City. The service terminates at Auckland's CBD (396 Queen Street) opposite Town Hall, where you can connect with our complimentary shuttle if you wish to continue your trip to lower Queen Street and Customs Street.

At 396 Queen Street you will also find our SkyBus lounge, where you can buy tickets, check you flight info or simply relax and enjoy our Free WiFi.

We operate on two routes between the City and the Airport, one via Mt Eden Road and one via Dominion Road. For a pick up on these roads simply wait at your nearest bus stop and hail the driver on approach. EASY!

Google needs to update its bus stop locations for the Sky Bus as it is way out of date. Only two stops in the city which are Customs St and Hobson St. Go to the Sky Bus website for accurate info. Don’t rely on Google Maps or you will miss your bus!

Cash only, no eftpos even though they have a machine, notice saying to improve our services we are dropping the dominion road route. Obviously couldn’t give a hoot about service, all about money. Total disgrace, bring on light rail to airport and then we’ll see the back of these muppets
Prompt, spacious and very easy. We got to town faster than we thought we would. The website, app and instructions are clear and have made it easy for us to plan our trip to auckland. Friendly staff and Helpful drivers with a willingness to help. I had large bags and our driver helped me get them on upon arrival and then even helped me take them out at my stop. The lady at the ticket desk even asked if i needed help with bags. Overall Great service and experience.
So easy!!! The ticket box attendant was so friendly and helpful. I'm not a public transport person and advised her I had no idea where my stop was she gave me a map and drew on it my stop and my accommodation. The driver was fantastic, he helped me with my bag and advised me when we were at my stop. He gave me plenty of time to get off the bus with my bag and was very polite even pointing me in the right direction of my hotel.
I purchased tickets for our last travel. We use Sky Bus service almost every time we travel When I found out that we had an early morning flight out of Auckland and a late night flight back to Auckland, I emailed Sky Bus on 23/1/2021explaining what had happened. Sky Bus pick up times at our stop was 5:53am and the last bus from the domestic terminal was 9:05pm. We couldn’t make it in time for our departure and our arrival was long after the last bus had left. In my email I asked for a refund as we aren’t hoping to travel in the near future with the Covid situation and it made no sense to hold on to a ticket expiring in April 2021. I didn’t hear from Sky Bus until 5/2/2021. That was after two follow up calls and a second email. Finally I had an email saying no refund was possible as to the the so called senior management and their no refund policy. I was told to email them closer to expiry to see if any changes were made to the refund policy or just have to bare the lose. The agent ended the email saying we look forward to having you onboard again. Not sure we’d want to use their service again. Not after they valued $64 on top of doing the right thing, helping a customer out and retaining them. Not when the charge of an Uber, Ola or DiDi is a few $ on top of the bus fare. I mean a door to door service is better isn’t it? I get that I made a mistake but shouldn’t there have been empathy? A proper assessment? Exceptions? How tight as a company would you have to be to choose $64 over a returning customer? Just utterly disappointed with the outcome and how companies treat customers nowadays.
Brilliant service to have on the Shore. Fast, practical, and easy to use. Coming from Gulf Harbour, I only need to be dropped off at Albany and was at the airport Sunday in less than an hour. No more having to pay for car parking or asking a family member to give up a morning of their weekend for a lift. Affordable alternative. Will use again happily.
Great service. Friendly drivers make sure you know which stop to get off at. An issue on the way back to the airport though when 3 of the every 10 to 15 minutes buses didn't turn up. Made it just in time for my flight.
This is a great service and I often use it to get to Mangere Airport and back. I think it runs every 30 minutes now, it's very simple to use and I can also use my AT Hop Card to tag on and off, which is very convenient. I have to wonder why the Government and our rather confused Auckland Council are insisting on building Lght Rail from the CBD to Mangere Airport when this will be slower, cost millions of dollars and further disrupt downtown Auckland for at least another decade, whilst they try and get it up and running. Between SkyBus and our rail link to the new Puhinui Railway Station the upgrade to this station is almost complete at the time of writing which also links to the newly completed priority bus lanes to the Airport on SH20B, giving us two very good options to get out to the Airport, you'd have to ask why you'd bother building a single light rail line when buses go everywhere the roads go and, if we use electric buses in the future, it's even better. Once the City Rail Link is complete in about four years time it will be even faster! I highly recommend SkyBus as a great option if you are moving between the Auckland CBD and the Airport. The staff are very helpful, they are generally good drivers, it's faster during peak hour traffic as the buses can use priority bus lanes and it's a comfortable ride. Thanks Skybus!
Was at the stop at 7am didn’t leave till 7:30am, only one bus in that 30 minute time slot despite them leaving every 12 minutes? Late for my flight! Pretty stressful experience. Should be a scan for passenger to scan own ticket, save those minutes.
