The worst battered fish I had in New Zealand in a year. SUPER greasy photo attached, zero taste, falling apart. Really awful.nDecent thus second star but expensive chips 8$ a scoop, but this Hoki was not worth 7,5$. Had much better fish all over the country in shady Chinese takeaways for half this price. Avoid.
Best fish and chip shop I've been to. Friendly staff, service with a smile. We stay in whangaruru annually and look forward to our stay every time. We ran out of cherry tomatoes for our raw fish recipe and the generous lady at skipps hooked it up. The kūmara fries are a real treat. Ngā mihi from the wild whānau.
A classic homage to a proper no frills fish and chips joint. We got two battered snapper, chips, potato fritters and broccoli bites with some sauces also we got some cheeky fried donuts as a dessert. All of it was delicious, the service was fantastic and it had a lovely charm. Pricing was fair and our order did not take long even though they had regular business. Highly recommend!
This place is legit. Amazing burgers, fish is deep fried with nice crispy batter, fresh as, run by locals, always a highlight coming to Oakura and buying a disgusting amount of food from this place.
Friendly staff, good service, average food, nice location.nNothing to complain about.
