Just went for a quick look as I am on their mailing list. Small store but well stocked shelves with lots of largely Eastern European food and beverage products. 3 dedicated parks outside and that is handy and free. Also have an online presence for ordering.
Good place to get European food for affordable prices. Polish pierogi, Ukrainian sweets, buckwheat, twaróg, borshch, etc.
Wow is all I can say. I only just discovered Skazka - where else can you buy a decent sized piece of Speck for 2.20? I visited with a friend, and not being able to read Russian or Ukrainian we were a bit lost with some of the packaging. However that was part of the fun. Price were very low for imported goodies. I was thrilled with my decorative ceramic flask of Armenian red wine. Patient and helful staff made this a fun place to visit
Purchased a bulk of roasted buckwheat for the second time. All packed well and arrived the next day. Very pleased.
Best shop for Eastern European food, confectionery lollies and alcohol. Russian, Polish, Czech, Lithuanian. You can find some of the great brands, Zywiec, Okocim, Zubrowka, Wedel. You can get masa makowa, pasztet, kielbasa, pierogi.
Good variety of food from Russia. Some items dropping from order without notice, although making changes to card charges. I didn’t notice before that they mention expiry date on clearance products on website. So need to remember to look out for it when ordering online.
СКАЗКА? Очень приятно - как всегда! SKAZKA? Really nice - as always. Friendly service at this fascinating shop full of food and drink from Eastern and Central Europe: Polish, Russian, Baltic, Balkan, German, Ukrainian and more. Something of a meeting place for Auckland's East Euro communities, but Kiwis with a taste for the original salami, gherkins and so on will find plenty to love here too. YOU will love it.
10 stars for the service! I have ordered lots of delicacies on Wednesday morning, including some of the things that need to be in the fridge, and the parcel arrived the next day! Travelled all the way from Auckland to Peria Far North, in the middle of nowhere, very rural location in less than 24 hours! Everything was packed perfectly, even ice did not melt! Thank you Skazka for such amazing service, and going to enjoy all the treats now :
Ha finally I find the missing peace, EU food is good, specially the beers.
There was a really sweet employee with pigtails that was just really nice and helped me choose a great cider
