Having 20 years experience in an international banking career, I am a seasoned negotiator that has transacted 10s of billions of dollars worth of transactions. Working at the bleeding edge of business has helped hone my skills for creating deals and solutions for clients.
Marketing is such an underestimated component of selling a home. The best results are achieved by attracting a swarm of activity for your property and this comes down to the detail and creating an emotional reaction to your property. Great photo selection, a headline that grabs the right audiences’ attention and scripting that creates imagery, are all the initial key components to the successful marketing of any property.
Great marketing gets the buyers in the door or to make that first enquiry. However it’s the engagement from then on that can seal the deal. Respecting buyers, asking the right questions and always delivering over and above what is expected. Gaining a buyer’s trust is essential to a good outcome and too often I see deals being done in a combative manner that is detrimental to the transaction. A high percentage of my sales are done with buyers who didn’t initially enquire on the property they ended up buying.
Having strong local knowledge and contacts is also beneficial and has assisted with my success. I attended Kerikeri High School and as many do I spread my wings and returned. My love for the Bay of Islands has never diminished and many of my buyers suggest I should start a tourism business! It is easy when you love the place you live and take pride in sharing it with people looking to make it their home.
Small communities thrive on the back of volunteers and rolling the sleeves up and getting involved. Chairing The Friends of Roland’s Wood Charitable Trust has both been challenging and rewarding. Being a sponsor of the Kerikeri Rugby Club is great thing to be a part of. Sometimes I have to pinch myself that this is a job. Love it!
