Story

The ShoreLine Cinema is an independent Cinema established in the seaside town of Waikanae in 2008. Featuring an eclectic mix of films from New Zealand and around the world. We pride ourselves with the effort we make in our coffee using the sumptuous Rangitoto espresso blend from Allpress coffee. We offer quality range of Craft beers and wines including the award winning range of Tuatara beers made by the blokes just up the road. Throw into the mix New Zealand's iconic icecream from Fredrick Charles Rush Munro, and making life delicious we have an assortment of delights from our local Olde Beach Bakery.

For those of you who enjoy a more technical spin, our cinema features two state of the art auditoriums, with Digital projection. Both theatres are fully air-conditioned and feature 7.1 Dolby surround sound. They are also equipped with the latest hearing-impaired technologies.

You can enjoy all this in our supremely comfortable couches, especially designed for our theatre.

A quaint country cinema in the Waikanae shopping centre with a small front of house cafe. The cafe has great coffee, hot chocolate and an assortment of baking ready made baking. The cheese and date scones are very tasty and value for money . On my next visit I hope to see a movie
Great movie - Mrs Harris goes to Paris. Comfortable seats. Coffee only 5 out if 10. No cream for coffee, only milk. Lot of people now have pouring cream so would be fab if they added this into their coffee options.
Went tonight and can't recommend as the cinema is too small so that if people get up in the movie to get more drinks or go to the loo they inevitably stand in front of the screen or projector. Could hear the staff clearing up outside in the lobby so poor sound insulation. It is probably nice if you're after going out to enjoy food and drink in a casual way - but not great for people who really want to enjoy the cinema experience.
Chai lattes were great. Unfortunately coffee was overextracted and extremely bitter. When my 90yr old Granddad let you know on our way out because you should know that it was too bitter and apologised that it wasn't consumed we got an "Okay" along with a choice eyeroll which left an even more bitter taste in my mouth than the coffee.
I always love going to Shoreline. The staff are pleased to see you, food and drink is great, facilities are clean and tidy and there's heaps of parking.
My favourite movie theatre...attentive staff, good range of beverages & comfortable lounge seating.
Great place to relax with a coffee and a snack. Staff are friendly and the environment is clean and welcoming.
Awesome little theatre cafe Very comfortable 2 seater sofas and if needed extra cushions are available. You can relax with a cuppa or a beer and wine, and select food from the cafe. Staff are always very nice so go enjoy a movie
Love going to shoreline cinema! Great selection of movies and lovely food and drinks.
Gorgeous, cosy little theatre. Has 3 small cinemas in the complex. Lovely set up with 2 seater couches separated by perspex dividers. Has a licenced Cafe so you can have a coffee or wine with your movie.
