We owned this shop back in the late 90s to early 00s when it was named Waipa Takeaways. Great to come back to nz and see the shop still going strong.
Always consistent. Great food. Worth the drive and sometimes the wait if you forget to phone the order ahead.
Always good service and the fries are the best in town, one of my personal favorite takeaways..fishnchip packs are well worth it and their new chicken nibbles pack..Blessed to have them in our community of Ngaruawahia
The squid rings were good, but the fish is obviously not fresh.nnWe asked for the fish to be grilled but they said they couldnt do that, even though they have the resources to do so... I used to work at a fish n chip shop and we always offered grilled fish. If they cant do it, this means the fish is precooked in batter and then frozen. It tasted very bad.
Wanted to try Shirls because we always go to the same fish n chip shop something new is good
