Myself and a friend went shark cage diving - one of the best days of our lives. There is truly nothing like staring a great white in the eyes underwater. An experience we never thought we’d have the privilege of enjoying.nnWe’re both from central Canada and rarely get the opportunity to experience ocean wildlife so this was truly a treat. We had never used respirators nor really swam in the ocean so this was very foreign to us.nnNikki started off the day with high energy and clear instructions. We were able to hire a GoPro which is a must! Once we were on the boat, Jordan gave us the introductions, safety briefing, and training for new divers - her energy and charisma truly made the experience special. Clarice also ensured all divers and spectators were comfortable and confident on the boat and under the water. Terry, our skipper, had excellent stories and knowledge of the area, a true veteran of the Foveaux Strait - not to mention his sense of humour!nnThere is ample time to dive if you so choose, no rush at all. We saw 4 Great Whites consistently over 4 hours. All these factors combined create one of the most exhilarating and fulfilling days of your life. Well worth the price, if we’re ever in this unique corner of the world again, we would love to relive this awesome day.
Spending a day with Shark Experience Bluff has to be New Zealand’s most Jawsome experience. From the moment you’re greeted in the office in the morning to upbeat music playing and a warm welcome you know you’re in for a great day. All the crew onboard are friendly and knowledgable. Care is given to ensure everyone’s safety but whilst delivering the best possible experience for all. To do this fairly cage time gets rotated between all guests and it makes for a better balance. Obviously no one can gaurentee the sharks but Shark Experience Bluff are transparent with their website giving true data for sightings after each charter. New Zealand has also become somewhat of the Mecca for great white shark viewing recently with South Africa and Australia being hit with bad luck. The experience itself of being in a cage watching a shark calmly glide by, dive toward the cage and all sorts was such a great day and really a dream come true thanks to Shark Experience Bluff. I can’t give enough thanks to everyone that made it happen.
We had the most amazing day out with the Shark experience team! About an hour and 20 mins boat ride out then the fun started!! The team was amazing and gave us beginner divers a good intro and training session to make sure we felt comfortable in the water, and from then on it was a free for all for time in the cage! We saw 5 great whites incredibly close and the team were amazing at keeping the sharks interested in us so they’d stick around! It was a once in a lifetime experience for us all and something we’ll never forget! Mike, Jordan, Clarice and Tay were great and made it such a fun day! Thanks team!!!
Wonderful crew! Amazing experience for our 14year old son, his Dad and Pops to remember forever. Can't thank the team enough for letting us tag along and watch the sharks in their natural habitat.
We had booked two days for shark cage diving and it was an incredible experience. Everything was very well organized and the whole team was extremely friendly, professional, and welcoming. They made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. We really enjoyed the experience and would 100% recommend it to anyone - it was unforgettable and we love to come back again A special thank you to the whole team — the girls on the boat, the skipper, and the lovely lady in the office — everyone is doing a fantastic job.
