Utterly incompetent and uncaring, no consequence for failures means no incentive to perform. Any complaints are met with a customer blaming attitude or a 'not our responsibility' mentality. Building consents timeframes are constantly in breach of the RMA yet there is no action or plan to improve this. Bins regularly not emptied properly. No cohesion between NZTA and local roads due to lack of planning and forward thinking. Regularly contradict their own planning zones to allow changes against the will of locals. Seems to be getting worse as the years go on, I have lost any confidence I once had with the SDC.
Very helpful staff - voting options. Have always found staff helpful in all council matters.
Overall, they seem to be doing OK compared to Auckland Council that is. Interaction with Front office staff friendly while sorting out things for a rental. Email Communication responded to very quickly. Haven't had to chase them up. Only criticisms is LIM report was delivered a day late. Rates are perhaps on the high side.
To slow with consent. I would like to remind you I am paying for that consent. If you are overloaded hire more staff. In the mean time interest are going up and so are building cost which are coming out of my pocket
I was renewing my Rego there and the services rendered was awesome. The queuing line followed the covid 19 procedure and people visiting also observed the contract tracing QR code requirement. The officer attending visitors was very helpful and she did make sure people brought with them all the required documents before reaching the counter for further services.
Always friendly and easy to work with
The cost of rates in the selwyn district area is too much. The council's ambitious development plans/costs unfortunately are passed on to selwyn residents. There needs to be a more realistic relationship between rates, resident incomes, cost of living and essential services.
People can't down size rubbish bins apparently so your caught in a trap paying for them.
Zero is representative of this Council's incompetence & especially epitomized by the BCA manager!
Nithing on the website so say to book and appointment you have to book an appointment. Especially when other officers have better services.
