Family birthday dinner here for first time! Very impressed with the warm ambience and welcoming staff. Immediately feel like you are in Thailand, a great place to unwind and have quality time. Love the Zen relaxing feel here. Tuk tuks Buddha and soft lighting and authentic surroundings feels peaceful.nThe food was on point too, really tasty chicken pad Thai, soup, rice, crispy won tons, full of flavour and very more-ish - very happy with everything we had.nHighly recommend if you are wanting a calm and welcoming dinner experience.nWould definitely come back again,

we recently visited Thai Secret Garden and it turned out to be one of those places that quietly impresses you without trying too hard. Tucked away from the usual busy spots, the restaurant has a relaxed, almost hidden vibe that makes it feel like a bit of a local secret.nnOne thing that really stands out straight away is the decor. The decorations are amazing, with a proper Thai garden-style feel. There’s a lot of attention to detail, from greenery to ornaments and lighting, and it creates a really warm, inviting atmosphere. It doesn’t feel like your typical takeaway-style Thai place, it feels more like a themed dining experience where you actually want to sit and enjoy your time.nnWe ordered the cashew chicken and a pork stir-fry, and both dishes came out looking fresh, colourful, and properly cooked, not rushed or thrown together. The cashew chicken was easily the standout. The chicken was tender, not dry at all, and coated in a rich, slightly sweet sauce with just the right balance of savoury flavour. The cashews added a nice crunch, and the vegetables were still crisp, which made the whole dish feel fresh rather than oily or heavy like you sometimes get elsewhere.nnThe pork stir-fry was just as solid. The pork was sliced thin and cooked well, soaking up the sauce nicely without becoming chewy. It had that classic Thai flavour profile, a mix of savoury, a bit of sweetness, and a subtle kick that didn’t overpower the dish. Again, the vegetables were cooked properly, not overdone, which made a big difference.nnWhat stood out overall was the balance. Nothing felt too greasy, too salty, or overly sweet. It felt like proper home-style Thai cooking rather than a watered-down version. Portion sizes were generous too, so it felt like good value for money.nnThe atmosphere of the place is calm and welcoming, and the beautiful decor really adds to the whole experience. It’s not overly fancy, but it doesn’t need to be. It feels comfortable, clean, and genuine, which suits the food perfectly. Service was friendly and efficient without being over the top.nnIf you’re around Ōtāhuhu and want Thai food that actually tastes fresh and well made, this spot is worth checking out. It’s the kind of place you’d go back to without thinking twice, especially if you’re after something reliable that still hits the mark in terms of flavour.

We are very fortunate to have many excellent eateries in Otahuhu but the ambience of the Secret Thai Garden is second to none. I felt like I was in Thailand. I feel you pay extra in the food for the whole experience but the food was delicious and the size of the dishes was great. The only thing is you really need to try hard to the attention of staff members if you need anything.

The whole experience was amazing from start to finish service was 100% food was amazing favourite was Cashew Chicken stir fry and pad see ew. Would definitely recommend and come back. Love the set up.
