Traditional Kiwi (fresh) Fish, Chips and Burgers with a few twists at the sea-side, Manawatu estuary, bird sanctuary, forest and dunes (all readily accessible).

Story

Run as a 'Mom & Pop' operation, this local institution is being brought back from the brink by serving good food at reasonable prices with an emphasis on freshness and a traditional Fish, Chips & Burgers menu with a few unexpected extras such as salt & vinegar, newspaper wraps, proper egg-crumbed fish (many shops now use a special batter before dipping fish in breadcrumbs - yuk!), our own fish fritters (potato and Kumara) and Dutch Croquettes.

We currently have 'A' Hygiene Certification.

We are members of The Chip Group.

The food was very nice as far as fish&chips go. The only reason I'm giving the three stars is cost vs what you get. We brought 3 scoops of chips, looked like 2 maybe 2.5. The chicken breast fillet was not worth the $3.70.

Very disappointed in our fish and chips. Fish tasted funky and hot dog had too much pepper in it, and chips were dry and over cooked. Won't be back sorry.
Unfortunately the last two times we have been here the meals have not been what they are usually like. I believe Regs has new owners and I understand they need time to settle in. My last two meals have had way to much batter on Fish and Oysters and my Fish Burger I brought was very disappointing. Half of the Fish they had put in my burger had no Fish in it, it was just crunchy burnt batter. I took photos just incase. I’m not being horrible in anyway I just have noticed the difference in quality and presentation.
Well worth the trip out to Foxton Beach. Great tasting fresh food at absolutely incredible prices. The staff are really awesome and friendly tooFood: 5/5
My first experience here wasn't great, but the second was worse. I appreciate they're busy but when you phone up and get forgotten, drive there still on the phone and get to the counter 15 minutes later still on the line, that's poor. Then my order was stuffed up, my friend who ordered after me got hers well before me. Staff were unapologetic about the mistakes. Nearly an hour later... smallest scoop of chips ever could compare wh my friend's and overcooked fish. Won't be back!
We ordered 5 tarakihi beautify cooked 1scoop or regular chips really good and one of Kumara chips amazing for 4 adults and a 4yo. Definitely up there with my top 5 fish and chips experiences ever.
Lovely Bluff Oysters today and although expensive, still cheaper than some local off the shelf Bluff Oyster’s even though they have been expertly cooked for you. Well done guys!!
Amazing lunch, came here from Wellington just for the fish and chips favourite place I’ve been for awhile
