My daughter took us on my first trip to Whangamata since 1988 for me! We used to camp at Whangamata motor camp in our caravan for 16 years and absolutely loved it with our children ! First thing to do after a beach inspection is food! ONLY REAL FOOD IS FISH & CHIPS. The one we found was then“SEA & SALT” the service was exceptional, the snapper was almost still alive delicious and hot chips were super delicious lemon was provided! We were absolutely delighted and we would recommend wholeheartedly that discerning traveler’s try them!nArthur C. Charltonnwest Auckland NZ
There were 2 fish & chips shops close to each other on the main stretch of road. Sea & Salt were the busiest this evening so decided to try it out. Disappointed is an understatement. Fish was like out the box. Potato fritters were burnt overly cooked. If this was the better fish & chip shop then wouldnt recommend it to those visiting. Highlight was probably the homemade Aioli which was very nice. Outside of this, wouldnt return.
A great kiwi takeaway, good honest fish and chips with great burgers. The food is a little on the high side but it is worth every cent. Good fresh fish and lots of it. Burgers are a good size. Better to ring in your order if you can as it is always super busy and the wait could be up to an hour or more, but again it is only because it is so good. 5 star all day long!
First time customer. Popped in for an afternoon 3pm meal of teraki crumbed & chips. Beautiful fresh fish. Well presented. Tasty.
We were passing through town and got some food from here. The seafood was fresh, and the batter was nice. My favourite were the mussels that were fried just the right amount of time to still have a creamy texture.
