I love visiting bookstores when I’m overseas. Nearly gave this store a miss as I had already visited two in the area, but I’m so glad I decided against it. That was on 7th May 2023. Wonderful variety of books that are nicely organised. I found a few good reads, both fiction and non-fiction. The male staff on duty was great. He did what he could to help me out. I found a book titled “Indoor Cat” by Laura J Moss and Lynn Bahr and hoped to buy two copies one as a gift for my sister-in-law. The store only had one copy available but the male staff there offered to order it for us. We were unfortunately leaving the area the next morning so I declined. He also kindly offered to provide me the names of some stores where I may find it but our schedule was tight so we would not have the time to visit them - I really appreciated his help and suggestions though. Many many thanks to him! He made me feel welcome and looked after
Wonderful book shop with a wide range of carefully chosen stock, staff go above and beyond to help you find what youre looking for. They have some good games and lovely gift cards too. I wouldn't think twice if I need a book or a gift card, it's got to be Scorpio!
Good book shop, plenty of selection. Wish there was more horror but that is not a deal-breaker. Awesome atmosphere and lovely staff

Their kids section is really mint. Great range and really nice staff, who were very kind to my overly enthusiastic children. Really hard to stop them treating the place like a library and taking every book.
Excellent service today when Harriet, one of the Scorpio team, found a book I had been looking for and hand delivered it, dodging rain showers and Christmas shoppers. No doubt that this is the premier bookshop in the city with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Looking for a book? Start here. Support local. 1000 times better than shopping online although they do that, too
It's a wonderland of books and seats to be comfortable browsing.staff very helpful and realistic about costs
Could spend ages in this bookshop, plenty to choose to keep all reading styles happy. Love the cookbooks and the children's area
They always have the author's I'm looking for, the music and seats are wonderful. It's a business I go to every month to get a book.
