Welcome to the official page for Schwarzkopf NZ. We strive to make people's lives easier, better and more beautiful.
In 1898, an unknown chemist by the name of Hans Schwarzkopf opened a small drugstore in Berlin called "The Dye, Drug and Perfumery Store".
Five years later, he developed the "Shampoo with the Black Head" (from German "Schwarz" for black and "kopf" for head); the first water-soluble powder shampoo ever produced. It became an immediate bestseller and was even exported to Russia.
The real international breakthrough came in 1927 when he launched the first liquid shampoo and the first hair conditioner. From Berlin to Hollywood, everyone agreed that hair had never shined more beautifully under the spotlight.
Since then it has grown to become one of the top 3 hair cosmetic brands in the world
