Not bad for food by a national park, although the menu could have had a bit more variety. There were plenty of tables available when we walked in at 12:30pm on a weekday, and our food came out hot and fresh. We got the fish and chips and scotch filet and both were alright. A little pricey but that is to be expected and we enjoyed eating with a view of Mount Doom.
I like this pub. It's bright orange, presumably so it can be located in snow.!nThe draught beer choices are a bit average but the service is friendly and helpful and the food is good. Lots of choice, promptly served. It even has a mini golf course!
Just down the road from our accommodation we dined at this great place for dinner 2 nights in a row. Steak with mushroom sauce & chips the first night. 2nd night nachos & chicken wings. Each night received our order within just a few minutes, not even enough time to finish our first wine. Even with the place jumping with patrons. The view on the deck of the mountain gives fantastic atmosphere of nature at its finest. It’s not just any pub you find this kind of service.
Ribs were sick! I'd been told about them, but never had them, had eaten half when I took the pic, super good deal....Staff were under the pump on a busy mother's day evening and charged on through. We were a big group with noisy kids and the atmosphere was perfect. Thanks team.
The schnapps bar at National Park is a great spot to relax after a day out at Whakka Papa Mt Ruapehu and Skywalker gondola. Friendly and quick service with great hungry food. Visitors from all over the world meet up here. We stayed a couple of nights in the area on March 25.
