Hadn't stopped by for a while since I wasn't too fond of their toasted sandwiches but when we got here I was really surprised to find a new menu that had a whole lot more food options. The menu has a better selection of food before, which now rivals not really their beer selection. Most of the thing I've tried were quite nice including the pizzas, ribs and chicken wings. Onion rings were nice but they get less crispy the colder they get. Though that their chicken salt fries were too salty though. They also now have table service which is really handy and quite relaxing. It has become a nice place for food and drinks particularly with their awesome service which compliments that.
The beer selection is great! Really enjoyed our tasting paddles. The meat lovers pizza and Parmesan truffle fries were pretty good. We were there on the Sunday evening of Labour Weekend - strange ambience as there were only 3 other, small groups in such a large space. Very different vibe to the Lumsden.
Fantastic selection of beers and a well stocked bar, reasonable range of machines including a few multiplayer ones. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cash out available for the machines naturally!
Good cozy place to go to where it has a huge TV screen. To have some good Sammies and pizzas and relax with your friends. It's more like a sports bar than an actual restaurant. Attendants have always been friendly here. Not much of a disappointment. Loved your food, thank you.
First retro arcade bar I've been to in NZ. I love the different craft beer available and the different retro arcade games. The claw machine is awsome too, especially if you are good, you can even win yourself a beer.
Went for after work drinks with the team, there was something for everyone, except food but they let you order in! We will definitely be back, great entertainment
Generous portions. The toasted sandwiches are large are very good value. Friendly staff and good selection of beer.
Went here for my friends birthday dinner. The menu is rather strangely broken up into pizzas, toasted sandwiches, small snacks and a throw away salad section. We had “The Lumsden’s” Poutine curly fries and a toasted sandwich. The sandwich bread was not crispy enough and it was more like a melted cheese sandwich. The Poutine was fine, huge serving, which was great as it meant we could share. Some of the others got Pizza and I wish I had after seeing them, they looked really good! The beer selection was pretty decent and had craft beers on tap. I’m guessing this is the kind of place you meet for a beer rather than a sit down meal as I left disappointed in the options... the last strange thing is that we were there on a Saturday night and there were maybe only a few other groups there. By 9:30pm everyone else had left.
Really good toasted sandwiches and pizza! Extensive beer selection. Yum
So much fun! Throwback to my childhood.. Except I didn't drink amazing craft beer as a kid. Lol. Great vibe
