A True Bakery…. It was pure chance that we came across Savan’s. And I did something I haven’t done for years… a potato top pie AND an apple cream donut. Both were exceptional. My husband was very happy with his sausage roll and cream donut. Our grand daughters enjoyed every mouthful of their mince savouries and cookies. We will definitely return here when we’re in Warkworth. Really reminded us of bakeries from days gone by. Beautifully presented, great flavour , friendly service
We chose a selection of pies and sweet treats to take home.nnThe bacon and egg quiche with cheese and onion was fantastic. Amazing flavour. 11/10nnThe potato top pie and mince and cheese were ok, but bordering on bland. I'd rate them 6/1/nThe steak and cheese pie was the stand out, with flakynpastry, large chunks of tender beef and a rich thick sauce. 8.5/10nThe apple doughnut was pretty good, but the cream was a little strange. It seemed to have been whipped and something added to it making the texture lumpy.nIn my opinion, just thick fresh cream is the way to go.nThe apple slice had just the right balance of sweetness with a generous amount of filling.
The best pies in new zealand .nSteak pies are my favorite. The sevice is top class. Something for the sweet tooth is always available. Coffee is amazing too. Extremely recommended by me.
A bloody good Steak and Jalapeño pie. Generous tender chunks of steak, rich, saucy with the perfect amount of zing and heat from the jalapeño all encased in a perfect fluffy, buttery flaky pastry!
Any bakery that has a legit gold award on their window must be tried out. Very busy, actually had to wait for a while so definitely the best bakery in warkworth.nn- Mince cheese onion tomato pie 8.7/10nThis was a banging combo, 2 big tomato slice, chunky onion, tasty cheese and mince mixture was so good. This will be my go to when i come back here.nn- Sausage roll 8.4/10nSimple sausage roll done right. No funky meat mix, just onions and S&P. must try.nn- Coffee cream doughnut 9.0/10nWow. Was suprised how much i enjoyed this. Doughnut was so fresh and soft, cream was light and fresh as well. Coffee cream was overpowering, just the right balance.nnNow i know where to go next time im in warkworth.
