We were staying in Te Anau for a couple of days & looking for somewhere to eat & tried the Sandfly Cafe - really glad we did! Great coffee & the breakfasts were delicious - set us up for the day! Good selection of food to choose from with something for everyone. It has seating inside & tables outside as well. It’s got a nice chilled atmosphere & friendly, helpful staff. It’s centrally located and lots of parking close by. If you’re in Te Anau, this a great place for breakfast / brunch, lunch or just a cuppa & a cake!
I’d say this breakfast is the best I’ve had in New Zealand for this trip. The homemade taste with juicy tomato makes me feel more than satisfied. The decoration is warm with a lot of wooden features. A warm cafe which I think I would love to come again if head to Te Anau.
I love their blueberry muffins which is crispy outside and soft inside. It smells with a special fragrant. When it is in my mount, I tasted a bit of cinnamon which is my favorite spice. Egg Benedict with bacon on toast with a mildly sour cream sauce enriched the overall sensation in the mouth.
Stopped by this cozy breakfast spot and was pleasantly surprised by their bagels—perfectly toasted, chewy, and generously topped. Whether you go for a classic cream cheese or a loaded option, you won’t be disappointed. However, the tea selection was underwhelming—just basic teabag options when a good loose-leaf brew would have really elevated the experience.nnOverall, a great place if you’re after a solid bagel, but tea lovers might find themselves wishing for something a bit more special.
Great food, very busy place, service is not”ntheir forte as this is mostly a “fend for yourself kind of place. Grab your table, grab your silverware, grab your water, they will bring the food to you, but you’re pretty much on your own after that. Like I said, the food is very good so this is not really a problem, just the way they do business.
