I loved this place. We were on a road trip and had a quick stop for a bite. I loved the breakfast burger. All the items were so nice and tasty and the coffee was nicely done. The decor, the staff and the vibe make you want to visit there anytime. Well done to the team.
Sandfly Cafe deserves its high rating. We arrived around 11.30am and the place was buzzing. No matter, the woman in charge was very efficient and everyone got served pronto. Inside seating was pretty much taken, but plenty of outside tables were free. Latte was good, the hummus and avocado sandwich was great, and brownie with berries was delicious.
If you're looking for a place to have your coffee and breakfast in Te Anau, this is definitely the ONE! It's a pretty busy place, friendly staff, and good coffee! Rating it with 4 stars instead of 5. Reason: the breakfast serving is too small compared to other cafes so I think the food is quite pricey.
Stopped for a mocha and sweet treat. Delicious! We had an apple/cherry cake that was really good. The mocha was awesome! Loved the fast and friendly service. Both indoor and outdoor seating. And 8 am happy to say NO sand flys!
A nice coffee shop with interior and exterior sitting in The Anau town. Ordered the Venison and Mushroom Pie which was a great serving and cooked well with a good taste. Also got the Cappuccino which was warm and frothy with a wonderful presentation. Would definitely recommend it if you are in the area. They have a menu for breakfast and lunch and serve pastries. The Sandfly Cafe Te Anau is absolutely amazing in all aspects. The customer service is helpful, friendly and attentive, and the environment is cozy and unique. Pros - >Great food and drinks delicious coffee >Comfortable and warm environment >Great variety of indoor/outdoor seating >Menu caters to many dietary requirements >Conveniently located in Te Anau town centre Cons - > Can get a bit busy! Though there is always available seating
It’s been 3 weeks since I left NZ but I do still think about this cafe from time to time. The food is awesome - I had the sourdough toast and it was so chewy! Goes well with their homemade jam and butter. Their breakfast set was huge and delicious. Not in pictures - hash stack and their fluffy pancakes. We love this cafe so much we came back again the following morning. Will definitely be back the next time I visit Te Anau! Thank you for the lovely breakfast.
This place is not overrated. Whoever said in the reviews the breakfast wasn’t big enough, you have some appetite because we were stuffed. Ordered the regular & veggie big breakfasts plus a bacon scone and chocolate banana muffin to go that were delicious as well. Worth a wait during the breakfast rush but be warned if you’re trying to get a move on fast.
Good coffee and breakfast, no sandflies here. We came here for breakfast before starting our Kepler Track. The Eggs Benedict and the coffee were both good, but I would say I personally think the coffee is more value for money than the breakfast since I think the serving size of my breakfast is rather small for the price paid.
Great place for coffee and breakfast. I went there twice when in Te Anau. Good coffee and muffin with raspberries and white chocolate for take away - 10$ only. Service is fast and staff is nice and friendly. I can also recommend brekfast salad. Yummy Food: 5/5
