Story

Marsden Whitby is rare in New Zealand education - a young and rapidly growing co-educational independent school. We draw on the ethos, traditions and experience of our parent school, Samuel Marsden Collegiate School in Karori, which was established in 1878. Marsden Whitby joined the Marsden family in 2005 and has grown quickly, sharing much of the Karori school's heritage, but forging a strong and vibrant identity of its own.
Our focus is a balanced education that brings out the best in each individual. Students are encouraged to strive for excellence in their academic, cultural and sporting pursuits, to value creative, innovative and independent thinking; and to understand their responsibilities as local and global citizens.
