Arguably the BEST PIE I’ve ever tasted. Eggs Montreal tasted amazing, looked amazing was amazing. Never ever go past Otaki and not stop at this shop. Shop hours are short but this is presumably because they sell out so quickly because everyone knows these pies are absolutely delicious. The crust, the fillings, everything about them is the BEST.
I am in awe of the owners’ creativity, you’ll absolutely find pie fillings that you can’t find anywhere else probably in the entire world!nnThey release a new flavour every DAY so you’re bound to find something new here. Today’s special flavour was honey roast chicken which was sooooo good. I don’t know how they pack so much filling in a pie but you’re definitely getting your money’s worthnnThank you for the kind hospitality and delicious pies. The hollandaise sauce in their salmon pie was delightful
Went to Salut Bakery in Otaki yesterday for the first time, because I’ve read so much about it. It’s all true…I think they serve the best pies in the Wellington Region, maybe even in the North Island.nnWe had 4 different pies to share… best of the bunch was “Beef Brisket & Cheese”…packed full of beef and flavour. And I never thought I would say this,…I loved the fish pie…”Lime Hoki & salsa verde”, the Korean Roast Pork and Tandoori Chicken pies rounded off our selection. Every other pie option was already sold out when we went at about 11am on a Saturday morning.nnThanks Salut for one complimentary pie,…the owner/baker was very friendly…and took time out to chat. Awesome small business deserving of every success. If only you had a store closer to Wellington CBD…we will be supporting you every day.
Salut you're getting famous aye Great little bakery with unique pie flavours. I got the gochujang Korean pepper sauce pork belly pie which was quite satisfactory. Pie pastry was buttery and flaky, firm enough to hold all the filling so the pie didn't turn into mush. Pork belly pieces were quite big and the sauce wasn't too spicy which is usually expected with gochujang. So don't be a wuss and come here because the service was also super friendly
Best pies in New Zealand! They keep me coming back because they’re always pumping out new flavors like Buffalo Chicken and Gochujang Pork Belly. The Montreal egg, salmon, hollandaise, spinach is my favorite, but seriously every pie here is top tier. Also a great price for the quality and quantity that you get.
