Easy to make booking online. Waitresses are friendly. Location is good. Food though is well below average. My kids ordered chicken nuggets from kids menu, and they said it was not very nice tasting and warm. I ordered the herb crusted lamb fillet - well definitely wasn’t “crusted” - it looked as though spices had just been rubbed on. I could just scrape it off with the light touch of my knife. Tasted so bland. Not worth the $38 they charge for it. Disappointed. Salt and Pepper - do better please.
Steak perfectly cooked to my liking, also came with a tasty mushroom sauce. Partner got the Pork Belly which looked amazing, she was nice enough to share and that was also yum. Will definitely be back next time we are in Hanmer.
We came here last year for pre dinner drinks, atmosphere was nice, so decided to come back for dinner... bad choice. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED. took them long enough to take our drink order... I order duck salad, it was so tasteless, the duck was cold and thick and just no flavour. Just not nice completely waste of $28. Side salad of fish and chips had more flavour to it! Kids meal was $14 and so little chips, my kids are not big eater but they were still hungry after finishing it. Steak was nothing amazing, just average. will not go back again. the settings are so nice, such a shame.
Been here 3 times and each time, our meals were well presented and delicious. Staff were friendly. Definitely be back and highly recommend.
THE PERFECT DINING EXPERIENCE! After a day enjoying the thermal pools we decided to get some dinner to take back to our hotel. It was our first time trying takeaway meals from a restaurant, called to order and received very friendly and helpful service, with great suggestions that we were absolutely delicious. Meals presented beautifully in biodegradable containers. Perfect serving sizes! Was told we'd have a 20 minute wait, food was on time and served hot. Chargrilled medium rare steak was done to perfection, mushroom gravy was seasoned perfectly. Pork belly was incredible, actually melt in your mouth, and the vegetables with that fresh cooked crunch. Chocolate cheesecake with vanilla bean ice cream was sublime. P.s we'll be returning for breakfast! Thanks Salt & Pepper staff! Very satisfied customers!
Fast friendly service unlike an other place here in Hanmer we left after tables were having their meals before us. We walked out after an hour and found this place, Salt N Peper. So glad we did too!! It was alive and bussing. All staff were working well together to give a wonderful service with a smile. Just what we needed. But the food, just look at the pics. We will be back this holiday thats for sure. Thank you for making our night. We came back Wednesday for an evening with other members of our family to enjoy the same quality service. There we chose Other meals off the menue and all loved each meal. The day was so hot and it was pleasent to sit under cover outside. So remember this name... Salt N Pepper when desiring a perfect dinning out experence. Kid-friendliness: Great idea for kids drink small jar with screw on lid having a hole for a staw in the midle. Dietary restrictions: Gluten fee dairy free no problems.
On walking out of salt N pepper we were discussing about our experience, perfect was used in each of our descriptions. Food was cooked beautifully! Great service and great atmosphere!! They even threw in a birthday desert for one of our guests, would definitely recommend!!! Second time been, first being a breakfast, that made me think this was a good fit and I was not wrong.
This place was humming for breakfast! And the food looked great. We only ordered coffees but they were really good. We ended up getting coffees to go too given they were so yummy. The baristas were super busy and the takeaways took a little while but nothing unreasonable and again our coffees were great. Best coffee we’ve ever had. Worth a try!
Waiting staff are great. But food was similar quality of a below average pub at much higher prices. Sauces tasted like they were from a packet. Steak was mostly well done not medium rare. If it was cheap it would be passable but not impressive, but it was very disappointing at the prices they charge
Great views for a breakfast out for a group of 7. Service was friendly and atmosphere quaint. Flat white was seriously lacking flavour. Although, the iced mocha was delicious. Food was mostly good avocado was not ripe for some and the tomato’s weren’t nice to eat.
