Mrs ward able dosent care about students and she always speak in a really passive aggressive way. She's just a horrible teacher in general. Also when people have tried to speak to the deans about problems they say that "they can't do anything about it", showing more that many teachers at this school don't really care about students.
The bad reviews are from angry Karen's who believe their children are angels and do nothing wrong. This school is very academic and achieving. Lots of activities and clubs to get involved in!
bad teachers honest should get shut down they dont take anything serious that is actually serious and take the little things way to seriously shut oc down
mr williams is simga the goat hes a year 8 teacher and gives out free candy if we are good :3
It is difficult to sum up my experience at this college. On one hand, I was privileged to be a part of all sorts of extra/co-curricular activities, made great friends, and was given work that challenged me. However, it was also easy to feel excluded and uncared for. It was easy to get sick of hearing everything about sport and nothing about academic achievement. There was the usual 'social status' regime, where the 'popular' kids got everything they wanted and seemed to get off lightly. I was also heavily bullied the entire time I attended Orewa College, and was given years of empty promises of what would happen to the bullies if they did it again spoiler alert: they did it over and over again and nothing was done to help. It wasn't until the last week of my seven years there that I was able to see the deputy principal to discuss the bullying, where she told me if it happened again they would lose certain privileges and I believed her. Sadly this was a bit too late. I also found that the staff turnover was incredibly high during my time there. For example, my 'form class' went through about 4-6 teachers during the five years I was in it. I thought the whole point of having a form class was so we had one consistent thing throughout our time at school, but the constant changing of teachers made it unstable. Most of the teachers were incredibly kind, and even those that seemed too strict when I was IN their class were actually fine when I look back on it. As long as you behave well then you should have no issues.
A school that condones bullying and sweeps any complaints under the carpet. Another vicious assault, when will the school take this issue seriously? Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 Health and safety laws – Schools have to do everything they can to make sure no physical or mental harm happens to you during school hours, on school grounds, or at school-related activities. These health and safety requirements also apply to school boards and governing committees of school boarding hostels.
I go to school there despite the prior reviews
Unless you want google classroom do all the teaching and your kids to be instructed from the board of trustees to stay home more than attending school go for it Im gutted i let down my kids enrolling them at orewa college they have gone backwards in their learning despite being well ahead before starting
Terrible school wouldn’t recommend especially for people joining half way through any year. Teachers will never side with students and always side with the first reporter. Any incident including physical will result in punishment for both sides even if in self defense.
everyone i know hates it with a passion
