Ruakura Berry Shop

It was a good place. Kids enjoyed themselves picking up the fruit and filling their containers. My personal view was that a lot of the strawberries were rotting on the plants and lots more were covered in mould. What made up was that there is a little playground to keep the kids happy.

Even though we went at end of season, there was still a surprisingly decent amount of strawberries left! The berry ice cream and froyo is so delicious, refreshing and not too sweet, perfectly creamy! Really enjoyed our girls day out!!

Love the place. Ice cream sold is soft ice cream. To enter the strawberry and raspberry farm, have to pay NZ$4 per person. Great experience

With my very honest humble opinion, on this particular date 27/12/2023, you should NOT open for strawberry picking because you do NOT have any good strawberries left!!! Also please stop charging us $4 per head if you only offer these low quality strawberries, that’s unfair for customers. Ice cream nice but please don’t open for pyo…..

Nice place with lots of parking. Harvesting of fruits only in October. Shop selling fresh fruits, ice cream and yogurt. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a cafe call camarosa which serve food, coffee and bar.

Although the PYO was closed for strawberries and was also advised by staff that the raspberries were not much left looking at the time, about 4 pm. But we were allowed to to visit the fields since I have never seen the raspberries grew from the plant. Love the blueberries and strawberries that were being sold in the shop. So sweet and delicious! Didn’t try the ice cream and yogurt though. Update. Blueberries. Every single one was sweet. Strawberries. Some sweet, some sour.

So so happy I saw their post on Facebook about their PYO that weekend or I wouldn't have known about this place. We enjoyed our time picking strawberries. They also have play area for kids. Great parking area too. Fresh ice cream and fruits. Will definitely come back next strawberry season.

My first time visiting a berry farm with my 4 year old. Staff were friendly and helpful, we had a great time picking raspberries followed by a really creamy, delicious berry ice cream and a play on their playground. A fun activity to do with the kids.

Berries were quite picked over by the time we got there . The playground has two large holes in the safety fence one by design and other by damage, the bark has broken glass mixed in, the tractors parts are are bit to loose gooses , there is a bare electrical wire poking out of the ground. Plus a dead bird . I have no idea how it died, but it looked suspicious. Ice cream was good though 3 weeks later The play ground got more unsafe

My partner & I loved the experience of PYO Was so fun & the weather was a beauty There were a few people waiting in line, but i noticed the staff were very helpful & patient when attending to them. Will definitely be back again!
