We came here for an overnight stay using a voucher we had been given as a present. The staff were very professional and we weren't treated any differently than the normal guests which sometimes happens when you have a voucher from somewhere I speak from experience The food was straight forward and very good, the wines were decent too. The hotel is shabby chic, we liked it. It was clean and bright. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
It was a comfortable hotel with everything needed for an overnight stay. I would say the room was a decent size although looked somewhat tired. There were lovely soaps and lotions in the bathroom to use. Not too much noise outside from the road. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food we had from the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was extremely tasty. Overall a pleasant stay.
Nice old-fashion hotel, strong 3*. We spent only one night there, but everything was great. We were upgraded to more spacious room I guess, due to birthday occasion with lovely balcony. Good location and price-quality ratio. There was a cool pub downstairs with good deals, very convenient. Definitely, will stay there again.
This was definitely not worth more than 3 stars. Reception deserted when we arrived. Some staff surly and unhelpful particularly in the restaurant. Our waitress was rude and unpleasant because I was gluten free. Everything was too much trouble particularly checking the menu. It had clean and comfortable beds. Very dated and old fashioned. I would not wish to return
The hotel is positioned perfectly for a tour around Cambridge. It is quite established, clean and the staff are young but polite and attentive. Breakfast provided cereals, hot and cold buffet options and was more than enough to set us up for the day. It would benefit from a little updating but not too much to impact on the character it currently has with ornate mouldings and wood features. I understand it will be closing in April for a complete refurb. All and all a pleasant stay.
Amazing hotel and venue. We had our son's christening there.Everything from day one when we met their event planner Maura went smooth. She asked us in brief what we wanted like our son's big day to look like and she took care of everything. We couldn't be happier or grateful. Special thanks to lovely Adela as well, that allocated us the best apartment the hotel has.
Okay so the room was small. BUT the hotel and room clean, fresh and cool. The staff were amazing, exceptionally kind. We arrived late and even though the restaurant was closed managed to rustle up a sandwich, crisps and biscuits each. Really helpful and knowledgeable about what was happening in Cambridge, recommended the round church and it was fantastic. Very cool old fashioned bar, specialise in GIN!!!
Just had a fantastic weekend stay here. We stayed in an apartment attached to the hotel which was huge. It was spotlessly clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely with hot and cold available. Would definitely recommend.
The decor throughout was classic and very nice. Central to the city with parking is of course good. The beds were comfortable too. The shower however was really weak and the staff were a little difficult. That being said for location itself if you are planning on just sleeping there and spending the rest of the time out and about it is a decent place to stay
The hotel feels quite dated, I didn't see any of the rooms but I did have dinner and wasn't overly impressed if I'm honest. The staff didn't seem to know what was going on, they weren't bringing the correct meals for each person at the table. I had fish and there were quite a lot of bones which was a shame, I can't say I'd go again.
