Great place to kids to let lose and enjoy free play and climbing good money for value and staff are very friendly and helpful
Indoor Rock Climbing arena, which is perfect for rainy days. You can book online or just turn up and try your luck. It was not too busy over Labour Weekend. There is a separate area for younger climbers, a cafe area and an area for experienced climbers. Parking on site or on the road. Watch a brief safety video and then off they go!
Had a party today at Rocktopia Tauranga and what a blast we had. Recommend party bookings for sure! Was so much fun! Our son turned 7 and his friends and our family just loved this place. An hour climbing around and ending with the slides was a highlight for them all. The party room hire for an hour was just what we needed for them to play, eat and celebrate with cake.. thanks team for a great day. It went extremely well!! the kids left chuffed and full of excitement, and the adults left feeling very proud of there adventurous, happy children.
Not much allocated parking, but street parking available. Friendly staff. I've been to many gyms that offer free chalk so I'm always a little turned off when you have to pay for it, but oh well. I came for bouldering so can't say much about the climbing facilities other than there seems to be more going on climbing-wise? The bouldering area is very small and seems to be graded quite harshly - this is my first time bouldering in NZ, though, but my friend who had never been bouldering before couldn't finish a single beginner route and even I found them far from easy. Granted, I have a slight injury and hadn't been bouldering in eight months, but before that I've been bouldering for a couple years and my friend is by no means unfit. Also missing a proper warm-up area.
Kids absolutely loved it and the time went really fast. Really well priced and great value. Super safe and easy to use for kids of all ages. Friendly and helpful staff onsite to help out and whilst we didn't utilize the Cafe, it's great to have somewhere parents can grab a coffee if they're not climbing.
