The food is simply amazing! The staff very professional and kind. Inside the whole length of the restaurant is in glass and you can dine at lunch looking the tide grow inside the bay. Fantastic! I came back and I can confirm again the great experience. The food delicious and amazing service, the staff always smiling and attentive. Food & drinks: The food is simply delicious!
Amazing!! The View is perfect, calming and wonderful. We chose the place for this and not disappointed. Got a table while the sun setting so beautiful colours on the horizon. Staff were attentive and polite, and had a good sense of humour. The decor is tasteful and comfortable. Impressed with the bar choices The food was deliscious. Cooked beautifully and great touches to enhance the elements of the dishes. We were so full from our main. Lovely sorbet choices. Definitely want to come back to try other dishes on the menu
Had Sunday lunch and stayed in one of the rooms with breakfast. Food was excellent. Staff were lovely and good service. Great view over the harbour. Rooms were small but cosy and to a good standard. Recommend both the food and as a place to stayRooms: 4/5
Lovely restaurant, went as a walk in but got seated a table with a view over the harbour. Upstairs is a bar menu, downstairs a little more expensive. We had a whole place which was catch of the day with a wild garlic hollandaise, the skin on fries were the best we've ever had. The whole thing was delicious, it is a little pricey as you have to add chips or veg on separately, but the whole experience was great , our waitress was so helpful and friendly. In fact all the staff were very attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely return next time we stay in Folkestone.
We went into the bar for lunch as we'd been before. My son and I had the flavoursome cheeseburgers again which you can see behind the Folkestone Brown Crab Tarte, which my wife had. We followed that with a couple of desserts. The presentation was a delight to look at and the tastes were amazing. We also chatted with the knowledgeable staff about other items on the menu, the drinks and a future visit to the actual restaurant, which is situated below the bar.
Visited Sunday 26 March. As previously stated a great building and location. Sadly on this occasion service and food were nowhere near as good. Wine arrived before cocktails and no one bothered to serve the wine or ask if it was okay. Food was cold. Several side dishes did not arrive and when this was pointed out to the manager he said we’d forgotten to order them! Later two glasses of wine arrived when we’d ordered one. Towards the end of the meal we ordered another glass of wine which never materialised. They had the good grace to remove the service charge before I asked and they ‘compted’ the deserts. None of which made up for very disappointing lunch. At £245 for four of us without service and deserts very poor value. Maybe best to avoid Sunday lunch I’m being generous unless you value architecture and views above food and service.
Restaurant, lovely fish restaurant right on the harbour so changing views all the time. Beautiful food and a good selection on the menu, several meat options if you don’t fancy fish. Staff really helpful and food cooked and presented very well. £10-£15 for a starter prawns big enough to share, mains £25, sides £4 and deserts £8. Was not rushed at all and had our table between 6.30-9.30 on a Friday night in March, was pretty much full. Rooms/Accommodation, only four rooms and only two have sea views so book early, clean, presented well, coffee machine and great views across the harbour, breakfast included which was again excellent.
We hopped on the train to Folkestone for the afternoon and decided to have lunch at Rock Salt. It was delicious. We took a table on the terrace over looking the beach. We decided to go for starters with a couple of sides. First some wine then some fresh warm bread arrived with salted butter, delicious! Then smoked salmon and Rye Bay scallops with skin on fries and a green salad, everything was delicious! The toast that came with the salmon was too crunchy for me though, so the waiter offered straight away some more of their delicious bread, Perfect! For pudding we had the chocolate torte and strawberry meringue, both scrummy! Lovely service. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. We shall return. Food & drinks: Delicious
Centrally located with views of Folkestone harbour. Nice interiors and friendly stuff. The food however is very average although with a central London price tag. They said, ice and varied menu with seasonal specials.Service: 4/5
Great location, lovely views and very tasty food. Portions are tiny and staff really slow. It took 1 1/2 hours to get our food. Considering it wasn't super busy and it was a birthday dinner, it was a little disappointing.Service: 3/5
