Our tour stopped here for lunch so can't speak to price or variety on the menu. We were running late for our arrival time but the staff were all friendly and hustled to get us our food in a short turnaround. This is without a doubt the nicest tour meal we have ever had and wished we had more time to enjoy it, as well as the pretty gardens located on the grounds. Our salmon and chicken dishes were marvelous 4-star quality with generous portions and mounds of local fresh vegetables and homemade seasoning. Meats were not overcooked like many places but tender and delicious. Our desserts were similarly impressive with delicious moist chocolate and carrot cake, complimented with tangy berry sorbet. Venue is modern style and nice with open air breezes. Men's bathroom had 2 private stalls no urinals and one was broken, so hopefully they get that fixed as definitely had a line. Staff were attentive and friendly, I wish we could go back soon but encourage you to give them a go.
Lovely garden, delicious food, and in a beautiful setting. Staff were friendly and food came out rather timely. Definitely worth dropping by if around the area! Havoc Pork was sublime! Parking: Ample parking
Drove from Dunedin for afternoon tea at Riverstone kitchen and the service was great. Took a little to be seated when heaps of empty tables but that is Ok. The wait staff were so friendly and helpful. Good was so GOOD that we were so impressed. I end up bought cook book and heaps of Jams home. Worth the trip.Food: 5/5
Came at 2:59pm kitchen closes at 3pm, we were greatly surprised when our waitress insisted the kitchen remain open for our last order of lunch before closing for dinner. What a nice gesture! The food which was served tastes fresh and delicious. A lot of the ingredients are produced locally on the premises with a lot of care also going into each dish. We ordered the foccacia for 2, roasted vegetables, soup of the day and chips. The soup and roasted veggies were absolutely amazing. The crunchy bread and the soup paired perfectly. None of the veggies were over done on the roasted vegetable dish could tell it was all just thrown into the over together at the same time. Great portion sizes as well as flavour. The bread was slightly disappointing compared to the other dishes but the humus and dukkah dip was more than tasted and went well with the bread. Would definitely recommend for a lunch/dinner stop on the way down the coast of NZ! We ordered the sour plum and the sour chocolate cake take away- we were a bit surprised they gave us cream when it was advertised to have ice cream understand you can take away ice cream... however it was a little disappointing to not see either a larger slice or slightly cheaper pricing to account for this. That being said, could not fault the flavour of the cake at all Vegetarian options: Soup Roasted vegetables Plenty of sides Desserts
Really big restaurant, packed with people during lunch time. The grilled fish and risotto I ordered had some interesting flavour, especially the veges used. However it was a bit salty. There were also quite a few flies while we were eating by the window.
A busy cafe. If u r driving towards Oamaru passing Glenavy, you will find it on ur right-hand side by the main road. It seemed to me a multiple businesses place around where you have plants, crafts and other gift types to shop. So, I took a while to find where it was. By the way, inside is really nice and pleasent. Was a good experience there. They have got a short menu. You can dine in or takeaway. But, I would suggest dining in as u want to enjoy dining in there. Seating outside is also available as an option. Reservation are welcome there.
Delicious meals and very friendly staff. My wife had the Chicken pie and I had the Fish and chips, was crumbed Sole fillets today. With Entree and mains, we could barely get out of our seats!
Lives up to reputation. The food was very, very good, the service was awesome. The squid dish was amazing, the pumpkin and parmesan soup was the best ever. The empty plate in the photo was apple fritters. They were too delicious to photograph first. We spent time in the vege garden and admired the quantity and quality of the produce, especially the silver beet.
Wow...what an amazing welcome brunch delicious and wander around afterwards still a recommended stop for a long trip. Customer service was exemplary and truly appreciated.Food: 5/5
We were on a shore excursion today and absolutely inundated this restaurant with two busloads of unruly tourists...And we were late to lunch, thanks to loose scheduling by the guide. Regardless, the staff got everyone seated, took drink orders, and served the most fabulous salmon and chicken salads we've ever seen. I skipped dessert in favor of a walk around the gardens, but heard the desserts were equally amazing. Thanks to the waitstaff and kitchen for accommodating the late tour and several very rude guests.
